The Star Wars Battlefront Fanclub

Posted

I can't be the only one on this site excited for this game. This is one of the three games that's essentially sold me a next gen system. (I choose PS4 lol) Good luck guessing what the other two games are xD

So yeah, this fanclub will basically be for discussing:

  • our excitement for the new Battlefront
  • our childhood with Battlefront 1 and/or 2
  • speculation on when it might be released
  • what system we'll be playing it on/what system we played the first two on
  • whether or not we want it to be third person and whether Dice will keep it third person or not
  • Really anything else we want to discuss about this game.

Have fun!

I love Star Wars so I'll join in on this fanclub. As for the new Star Wars Battlefront game, it looks really cool and gameplay looks awesome. Nuff' said.

I hope EA nails BF3, been waiting foreverrrrrr

our childhood with Battlefront 1 and/or 2

I still play the first STB on my ps2. . .

I loved the two Battlefronts...but really, I find myself more drawn to battlefront 1. Why?

I infinitely preferred the fact I could fly a Republic Gunship on a land map. it gave an entire new dimension, and the controls were superior. In BF2 we get it only for space and such. Controls inferior due to no hovering a tactic that would have made it more survivable actually.

Oh, and I preferred flying fighters on land, too. added that entire 'OHSHIZNIT INCOMING STARFIGHTER' to it.

Star War Battlefront and Battlefront 2 were instant classics and were a good part of my childhood.

I loved few years before, me and my bro loved the bug hunting xD we know more than 60+ in the BF2!

One time, back in the PS2 days, I was just playing a lonesome match of Battlefront 1 in my room. I forget what the map was called... it was snowy, and it had that glowly green crystal cave. (Just looked it up, Rhen Var)...

What followed is one of my greatest gaming memories...

I solo killed basically all the enemy reinforcements, only dying a couple times, (don't ask me how I managed this, It befuddles me to this day.) until only about 25 troops were left on the opposing team, and they had only command post... I got into one of the droid tanks, and (not bullshitting you) literally wedged it into the entrance of the cave where the base was... and just shot all the remaining troops before they could get away. Just completely curbstomped them.

I'm not bragging, really, I remain clueless how the hell I managed to do that. But I got it... and when the end Victory screen came up, and my name was at the top with literally 121 kills and 3 deaths? Ooh boy. That's a hell of an awesome moment.

That sole victory isn't the reason I love Battlefront, no... it was the fact that basically the game made moments like that for you all the time. It was one of those genuinely fun, rewarding experiences where even if you lost badly, you still had a good time. And it gave you so many options. All the armies to pick from, and then the classes in each, and then the weapons in each class, And then the varying, wildly versatile maps, and the fact you could play it in either 3rd or 1st person... it was just awesome. 2 was just as good if not better.

To summarize: I love this series, and I deeply regret the fact that I no longer own either game due to me playing the discs to breaking point, (are they on steam? if they are, I might get steam just for them.)

If the new Devs. change a damn thing about Battlefront... if they try to make it just like every other firetrucking multiplayer game, I will kill them all with a spork.

From what I hear about Dice, coupled with how powerful the systems are that the next one is gonna be on, I imagine this feature will return. Maybe even getting a fighter in space and then flying it down and terrorizing people on the ground with it will be possible.

Which brings up: I loved Battlefront 2, but I couldn't really get into the first one because I always struggled with trying to control my character and kept dying. Still, that was years ago now... I don't know, maybe I should give it a second shot. I still own both of these games, so why not xD

Also, anybody have any funny glitch stories to tell of?
