Am I missing out on things if I'm a handheld gamer?

Posted

So i was thinking,is there a difference in the quality of the experience you get with a home console rather than with a handheld gamer either than the obvious because lately i've been thinking of going home consoles because i mainly used to use my ds then i got a 3ds and i like to play action/jrpgs since i not really a huge fan of pure action/adventure games or shooters but since i'm gonna get a ps4 because of kh3,i was wondering if was missing out on great things all these years, hopefully this is not a confusing question.BTW I really don't go anyway except around the house but most of the time i'm in my room playing on my 3ds.

Yes.

So anyone can suggest some games for the ps3?I'm open to any genre.Trying to be more open minded cause i've owned a ds and 3ds and never played a mario or zelda game.

No, unless you count fun and entertaining games that can't be found on consoles as a thing.

Very much so.

Both consoles and handhelds have their ups and downs, and great games. I've always been more of a handheld gamer myself, but I love a lot of console games as well. I'd recommend looking into console gaming if you're interested, there are a lot of great console games. Also, I don't really know many PS3 games since I don't own one, sorry. I'd recommend KH1.5, Sly Cooper Collection, and Sly 4: Thieves Through Time, that's all I'm really able to say.

Yep.

But really it works both ways. I'm a console gamer and a handhed gamer, I wear my PS3 and my 3DS with pride. But that doesn't stop me from missing out on games that are PC exclusive... doesn't stop me from missing out on XBox exclusives... Just as a strictly console gamer would miss out on handheld exclusives, and a PC gamer would miss out on Console games. It's a vicious circle, and unless you're rich as a mofo there's really no way you're not going to miss out on something.

I will say that you would benefit from buying at least one of the current gen consoles. I recommend a PS3... the PS3 has a wide variety of exclusives, and it's a very versatile machine. You won't miss out on a whole lot with a PS3/Handheld combo.

If you're getting a PS3, get a PS+ subscription; free games every month (as in, usually around 3 PS3 games A MONTH), so long as you're a paying member (about $18 for three months, I think). You get access to some quality games, too, like Infamous 2 and Deus Ex: Revelations this past month. The games change every month, so your library's value raises the longer you have it and keep on downloading. It's so worth it.

With PS+, you pay to play free games. With XBL Gold, you pay to play free demos.

Get the Assassin Creed, Uncharted series. PS3 got great exclusives like Heavy Rain. You should check up.
