Did the Organization Read Roxas's Diary?

Posted

Just a random consideration.  When Saix claimed no one would read Roxas's diary, do you think he meant it?  It doesn't seem like the Organization would care about privacy, especially when it comes to a central component of their plans.  They know Roxas is special, so do you think they actually read his diary in private to gauge his thoughts and progress so they can adapt their plans accordingly?

Ask yourself, why would they tell Roxas to keep a diary to begin with?  On the surface, it seems a pretty arbitrary thing to make him do.  Why would they care for him to put his thoughts down when a thoughtless puppet is better suited for their plans?  Maybe they did it because they know Roxas is special--a blank slate, and a direct connection to Sora--so they'd probably want to see his development.  A simple way to do that would be through his journal entries.

And it's possible the rest of the Organization have their own diaries.  Where do the Secret Reports come from?  Things like the Ansem Reports are story-related, but what's the nature of the Secret Reports?  They all correlate to entries in Roxas's diary, but what are they?  Thoughts floating in the ether?  Actual documents?  Or entries for their own diaries?  I can imagine Larxene writing in her diary about how stupid it was to babysit Roxas for that early tutorial mission.  The reports don't seem directed towards anyone but themselves, so there's evidence to support the Secret Reports could be their own diaries.

In that case, maybe Saix told everyone to keep diaries--which they were told would be private--specifically to spy on their members and see what's up.  For all we know, all Saix had to to do confirm Marluxia's eventual betrayal was to sneak a peak at his diary, and send him and the others to Castle Oblivion to get them out of the way.  Think about it.

Maybe I'm looking too deeply into a mechanic for story recapping purposes, but the Organization being a bunch of voyeurs is something to consider.  Seriously, I can just imagine everyone sneaking into Roxas's room, reading his diary, snickering, and sneaking out like they were never there.  Xigbar can teleport, if you recall.

Makes a lot of sense to me. Actually, I never really stopped to think about it, but your theory is most likely true. Though i don't understand why someone would put their conspiracies in their unprotected diaries

Maybe if they were told no one would check it?  Y'know, keeping track of your notes n' stuff. /shot

I actually wondered that as well, your theory is interesting. Maybe Saix was the only one who would keep tabs on the diaries since he and Axel were supposed to take over the Organization (if recall correctly). Maybe Saix only checked the other Organization members' diary pages that dealt with Roxas and his mission for that paticular day to keep him in line/check his progress? I feel like I just repeated what you said...this is what I get for trying to straighten out KH ideas xD

I don't think they needed to and if they did it was after he was gone.

Don't they usually get people with amnesia to record their daily events in a diary? Roxas isn't exactly amnesiac but still no memories.

Although them peeking in on his diary would explain why Saix was there at the entrance to try and stop him from leaving. He saw the huge "I AM DONE!" and acted quickly. Oh Isa...

The thought of them reading Roxas's diary makes me laugh. But it's an interesting theory you have there!

That actually makes a lot of sense o.o I mean they need to know what's going on in all the member's minds so that if one of them go traitor they will be able to (try) to stop them. That's probably how Saix knew Roxas was going to leave the Organization and fought himon his way out.

They might've. Everyhting they know about mightve come from his journal.

Probably. How else did Saix stop him at the front door right before he left the organization?

Probably. Seems like something they'd do.

The organization sits and laughs at it because he writes creepy fanfiction of xion.

Imagine all your plans being undone and being stopped in your tracks, because someone read your journal.

Lesson learned: Don't put your sabotage plans in your little pink book.

Sounds very possible

Saix: Uhw My Godd...He has a crush on Xion

Xibar: *Walks crying away*

It makes sense! :) Might be true.

He was on guard duty? lol
