So after I finished 358/2 Days (which is very depressing), I unlocked the credit and I wanted to see if the videos of KH2, BBS, and re:coded were still there. So I watched the credits, lo and behold they were there. So I guess the next HD collection will have those 3 games on it. I still haven't played re:coded so I guess that will be cool to see but, is re:coded really important to see to understand the next games from that point? (KH3D & KH3[i'm not asking about KH3])

no, RE:Coded has almost no story importance what so ever.

Lies.

Coded reveals Xeanhorts plans, Reveals Data Roxas still alive in Sora, and sets the stage for DDD.

Ok, so Roxas is still alive? I'm confused >.< I would ask more questions but I think i'll wait for the next HD collection.

Re:coded only revealed multiple versions of him would return. Other than the ending the game isn't really important to the series.

And Data-Roxas has no importance whatsoever to anything. He was introduced and gone the minute after.

Fool. Re:coded could have never existed if we were just told what that letter at the end of KH2 read.

It's a data version of Sora that re-visits his adventures in the first KH game through Jimminy's Journal and de-bugs it along the way from corrupted data/Heartless. He enters the data world and tries finding the glitches in order to save that specific memory/data from being ruined. It basically tests Data Sora's heart and makes sure that the real Sora is able to deal with the amount of pain everyone connected to his heart feels. It also shows in the end how Xehanort can come back, how many versions of him there will be, and sets the stage for the beginning of DDD. I actually like this game ^^ It's up to you whether you believe it important or not to the main plot.

No, Roxas is part of the real Sora at the moment. In Re:Coded, Data Sora meets Data Roxas throughout the game but doesn't really speak to him until the end.

Ok, that helps me out a little bit more, thanks :P. Well I guess until the next HD collection (which I hope will be at this coming TGS) I'll still be a little confused about re:coded.

A little bit off topic but, does anyone think that they will do a standalone HD remaster of 3D? Maybe when KH3 comes out? That way those whose couldn't play it won't be so confused at the beginning of KH3.

My personal opinion on Re:Coded?  I think it would make sense if it was just cutscenes like Days (Which honestly should have gotten a full on remake.  It would take time, but I think the game does deserve it in some sense).  Re:Coded really does nothing for the story that could have been done in a simple set of cutscenes (Or even 1 cutscene.  Hell, they could have gone through some sort of dive into heart sequence to reveal this.  I don't know.).  I relate to the story on this matter though.  The gameplay was pretty decent.  I did a review on it a while back but it's not really worth the time to read it xD

But yeah, it's likely that Re:Coded will just be a cutscene movie, and the only reason I'd recommend playing it for yourself is for the combat I suppose.  The commands are pretty interesting, and there's a nice deal of keyblade variety in terms of how they function :)
