Posted October 16, 201312 yr I mean it's been a few days since the game came out and people have already beaten it. Is it really that short of a game? Or is it because people are playing it in one sitting and not taking their time beating it?
October 16, 201312 yr The second option most likely, There is a huge gap between the first badge and the second badge and I think it would take an average person 2-3 days to get 2 badges. Don't forget, people might have finished the game a few days after it released due to getting the game early. I would normally suggest taking your time to play the game, grind pokemon levels, enjoy the changes, and have fun with it instead of beating it in one sitting.
October 16, 201312 yr It depends on how you play it. If you try and do everything along the way it'll take awhile. But if you rush through it it shouldn't take too long.
October 16, 201312 yr I've put 20 hours in and only have 4 badges lol. If you Super Train your Pokemon and explore every area it will take you a while.
October 16, 201312 yr Let's see... I have six gym badges and I've spent 42 hours and 45 minutes on the game. I'm mainly BSing around and doing online stuff, though. Also I have 12, not 6, TWELVE Pokemon I've been using in my party. A lot of swapping out and grinding. It's fun. I love it.
October 16, 201312 yr if people have already completed it they clearly are playing it ALOT! I have to play around work, I've put in around about 10 hours and have 3 badges and my pokemon are all mid-thirties. It's a fairly long game in comparison to all the existing games
October 16, 201312 yr I have a level 22 Snorlax, a Level 23 Honedge, a Level 24 Kirila, a Level 27 Charmeleon, and a level 28 Frogidier just before the second gym in X Already beat Y though...
October 16, 201312 yr Well I just got my six gym badge last night, and I have been playing the game a lot at a time, so I think it is more about your speed when playing the game.
October 16, 201312 yr Shorter than BW imo, but still long enough to keep one occupied. I hate the fact there's to rematches the building. (But pay 50,000 wth)

Or is it because people are playing it in one sitting and not taking their time beating it? Some people speed run it....the game isn't really short unless you ignore most of the sidequest or just assemble a random team on the fly and over level them I've finished Soul Silver in 14 hours on my first run.....but it took me 25 hours on my second run because I went to do the sidequests alongside the main quest
October 17, 201312 yr My brother beat it in around 19 to 20 hours. Currently, I have 19 hours and 45 minutes in the game, and I only just got to the city with the third gym. It really just depends on how you play.
October 18, 201312 yr I'm almost with a week of playing it, 40 hours and 7 medals. No, it's not short, quite the contrary. It's short if you go like crazy without talking with others, do training, battle with friends, capture Pokemon... And even if you "complete the game" you still has the post-game, the battle places and of course the task of getting all Pokémon.
October 18, 201312 yr I got my game two days earlier. Plus, weren't there some people in Italy who got a whole week earlier?
October 22, 201312 yr had a fair amount of time to play it lately (NO I BLATENTLY DID NOT TAKE MY 2DS TO WORK TO PLAY IT IN MY BREAKS) and I've got: Sliggoo lv 53 Dedenne lv 57 Vivillion lv 57 Charizard lv 58 Greninja lv 57 Tyrantrum lv 57 with 7 Badges in about 16-17 hours. The game just picks up speed double time after the 3rd badge I've found.
October 22, 201312 yr I'm thinking those who beat in such a short time really bumrushed the entire game. They got their starter, battled, get gym badges, pay 75% of his/her mind to whats going on and thats all. Plus with EXP share there isn't much of a "hey I have all these Pokémon to level up" so it makes it much easier to complete it in such a short amount of time. It took me 49 hours to beat the game, mainly because I waited for my brother to catch up, buying clothes, catching a specific Pokémon, and talking to everyone.
October 22, 201312 yr It's really what you make of it Pokemon games are mostly by the numbers when it comes to the time you spend in it. If you're rushing through the game especially using that overpowered event Torchic....it won't take 15 or 18 hours for you to finish it But if you explored each area,do some side quests....search for the Pokemon you want for your team....etc,it'll be way longer than you'd expect.
