I probably should have expected that.

Maybe it was all predicted, and maybe that's even the reason why KH3 was taking too long...

Am I seriously the only one that noticed this

Not anymore.... knew when 2.5 was announced, but couldn't find/make a meme of it....

Come on kingdom hearts, i thought we talked about you and the number 13

Actually, KH3 would be the 11th...

...Square, you clever...Also, I can now fully enjoy this in my Roxas Halloween costume as Number XIII playing XIII. Roxas also is the only good XIII anything when it comes to Square Enix.

probably, if you add 1.5 and 2.5 you get 13, sooooooo......

Just count the games that are on the image

Fool. What about the final mixes? If you can count remakes and Remixes, I don't see why you can't count those.

That's a reasonable reason for me to reason

I think they put the "unique" games, maybe not final mixes because they were the same story/gameplay on both, just adding extra things on them....

Fool. Hmm, kind of like the remakes and the remixes?

It has been pointed out a lot.

Nope, coded was for cellphone, Re:coded was for DS changing gameplay. Same with CoM and Re:CoM (changing gameplay). And in the end, remixes had cinematic games, changes on the gameplay of KH (the reaction comands), new orchestrated music, etc

Also, if Kingdom Hearts III is to be released in the year 2015, it will have been 13 years since Kingdom Hearts I was released

Now everything makes sense........

Fool. Matter of opinion.

it was also announced in 2013.. and will come out in 2015... the 13th anniversary of kh

hmmm hopefully

I just hopes it comes out before 2017

what I think is that FFXV comes out late 2014 and KH3 comes out late 2015

It really depends on your numbering convention.

If you count every installment to the franchise, you have 8: Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Kingdom Hearts coded, Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, and Kingdom Hearts X (chi).

If you count just remakes and stand-alones, then you also have 8: Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix (+), Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded, Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, and Kingdom Hearts X (chi).

If you count both, then you have 13 already: Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix (+), Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts coded, Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded, Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, and Kingdom Hearts X (chi).

If you don't count Kingdom Hearts X (chi) as a part of the story yet however, then you would instead have 7, 7, and 12, respectively.

If you don't count X, but do count the remasters and III, then you would have 10, 10, and 15, respectively.

If you do count X and count the remasters and III, then you would have 11, 11, and 16, respectively.

But if you count EVERYTHING ever released with the Kingdom Hearts name on it (well, the games anyway), and include those yet to be released or available outside of Japan, you would have 16: Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix (+), Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts coded, Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded, Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, Kingdom Hearts X (chi), Kingdom Hearts HD I.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD II.5 ReMIX, and then finally Kingdom Hearts III.

(I guess I counted that last one twice, but you get the idea)

But if you decide to trust Square's decision of what I guess they felt were more worth mentioning, then you would just have 11: Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Kingdom Hearts coded, Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded, Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, Kingdom Hearts X (chi), and Kingdom Hearts HD I.5 ReMIX.

Add Kingdom Hearts HD II.5 ReMIX and Kingdom Hearts III to that, and yeah, you basically have 13.

There's many ways to count the series, it just really depends on your preference.

Well there you go. I really hope you all appreciate the amount of math I force myself to use for you all every day! T_T
