I bet some of you here(especially fans of FF8) knows what I'm talking about

 

 

Needless to say,I love Spoony's reviews,whether it's for a video game or a movie,but I especially love his Final Fantasy reviews because of how funny the ways he expose the flaws of each game...His review of Final Fantasy 8 is my favorite to be honest and it's one of the most popular Final Fantasy reviews on youtube

 

 

I know some of you will say he's just a hater and a complete asshole...no he isn't.The dude actually likes Final Fantasy from 1 to 7 and maybe 9.It's just the likes of 8,10,10-12 and XIII aren't good in his opinion.And speaking of FFXIII,you have to watch that review....I swear I couldn't stop laughing sometimes especially on the last part of the review.

Yeah I love this guy he's hilarious!! And this is coming from a dude who actually loves Final Fantasy VIII! I loved his FFX review too, highlights almost everything I hate about that game.

Only saw the first part of it, it was horrible. Heck, he spent the first 5 minutes talking about hating 8 and 9. I mean, trust me, I hate 8 too, but it's about 10, not 8. It just pissed me off, especially since so many people seem to worship his thoughts on the games...

And just went through the whole game pointing out the butt shots. And questioned all the typical JRPG logic which is everywhere in the genre. "What's this weird technology?" Because fantasy games must be just like real life.

Exactly... Also, he said his main reason for hating 9 was because it came after 8. That's probably the worst reason for disliking something I've ever heard, I might as well say I hate Dissidia 012 because Vaan's playable. (Note: I freaking love Dissidia, despite Vaan being playable.)

Look guys,at least when you watch him take it with a grain of salt and just watch it for laughs.

I find him hilarious, but I will agree his reviews point out some incredibly nitpick stuff and he can be a total douchebag at any given moment. Even before I watched his reviews, though, I never thought X was that great of a game. I also find it funny he bitched about X and X-2, yet completely skipped over XII in favor of XIII given that I think it's a rather dull entry in the series, anyway. Other than Vaan, whom I only found amusement in poking fun at, the game isn't really all that special. It feels less Final Fantasy and more generic medieval MMORPG that didn't end up being an MMO. And given SE's track record, I could honestly believe XII was supposed to be an MMO at first. 

 

And as for XIII, I could get into the story if I didn't hate the gameplay so much. It is so incredibly soul-crushing, that it didn't even make me want to watch the cutscenes on Youtube. I only have a passing urge to play through the first one all the way through just so I can get to XIII-2 and Lightning Returns, which look a little better. What I'm getting at is, the dude has some fair points.

I didn't even see how it could be funny, it wasn't in my comedic tastes I guess. It was just annoying to me, really. I don't want to sit through an hour long review of a game I already own and love anyway...

He said that there was no strategy in the battle system. That's just straight up false. I feel that you can't always take people's word for things. You need to play it first before you have the right to say anything about it. He's a popular reviewer, so his word is law. People who aren't ff fans will bash it, because it's easy to bash something that you don't care about.

I didn't agree with him about the battle system at all,but there are some legitimate complains that he made in Part 4 of the review....like the one regarding Nautilis and some story elements.

 

I've spent 70 hours on FFXIII and that including the 40 hours of the story and some 30 hours on the side missions......I used to love the game but I started to hate....not because of spoony no no no I didn't know about his 13 review just maybe 2 months ago.

 

It's just I started to notice the jarring problems with it once I started going back to RPGs like Pokemon and playing other ones like Xenoblade.And I just realized that the most amount of problems with XIII is not nessecarily related to Final Fantasy,but because the game fail at many basics of what make a JRPG fun to begin with

I agree, XIII's hallway was really dumb, but otherwise, the gameplay in battle was good and the fights were fun, and the story was pretty good, albeit too many long cutscenes though. This is why i prefer XIII-2.

I hated FFVIII not because of Spoony mind you,but because I found the game mindnummingly boring when I played it,I just couldn't replay it anymore if I had to spend hours drawing and junctioning magic like nobody's business with one plot-hole paradise of a story that contradict it's mythos most of the time and with moments that can be described as outright convenient bullshit:Seriously Squall and Rinoa,in the middle of f***king no where in space,miraculously found a space ship gassed up,ready to go and fully functional......OF COURSE GAME....OF F...KING COURSE

Anyway,the reason I recommended Spoony is because I wanted some people here to have a good laugh

 

You don't have to take him seriously at all as long as you still love the game.Heck I know lots of fans of FF8 on the internet actually had fun with Spoony's FF8 review despite the fact he was destroying a game they love

 

Yes I agree that there are lots of instances where Spoony can be outright wrong,but his reviews can be good for a laugh
