I don't think namine should get a keyblade

Posted

Don't get me wrong I like namine,

But her getting a keyblade just doesn't sit with me. at all. yea sure kairi has a keyblade and by normura logic the wielders nobodies can have one too.

But I can't see namine fighting, and I don't want her to fight either,

and nami being a kairi drive form or like her wrecking shit when kairi is ko'ed

(Ok I'll admit I have a so-so feeling with that.)

But anyway I personally hope she doesn't get one.

My point exactly...Xemnas doesn't use a keyblade. He chose not too and he can still defend himself! I'm sure Naminé can do the same.

Well that's bc his other weapon of choice is totally badass xD . The real question is though -" If he didn't have to hide the fact he could use one would he have still chosen not to use it ?"  After all,  it's suppose to be the strongest weapon in the universe.

In order to get a keyblade you normally need the ceremony, a strong heart ,then the keyblade judges if you are worthy and then picks you if you qualify.

And then there's just Sora. xD

And then there's just Sora. xD

Yep the exception to the rule xD

In theory yes she should have one but that doesn't mean it will end up being her main method of fighting since she has other interesting powers to put to use as well. It's hard to say since her existence itself is an anomoly. Maybe she'll end up using her powers plus a keyblade when needed.

I'm sure she has other weird superpowers...Remember when knocked out Repliku with her abilities. She has other ways to defend herself. I honestly don't want her to have a keyblade either. And I don't think she will. Xemnas doesn't use a keyblade, why should she?

I think Namine's powers are potent enough as it is.  She's able to manipulate the memories of Sora and those connected to him--and since a metric crapton of people are connected to Sora due to his Friendship Freak status, she's practically a god already.  She doesn't need a keyblade to be important.  And that's coming from someone who gets annoyed when people complain there are too many keyblade wielders.

But Naminé's powers only work on those connected to Sora. What about the others? I don't think the new members of Organization XIII have enough connections to Sora for her powers to work.

Besides, how are her powers going to be useful in a battle? Bcause I'm pretty sure Naminé will be made playable in KHIII, even if it's just for Online mode, therefore, they would need to give her fighting abilities.

well first off i said she'd prolly use both . As for how she could use her powers-  technically Xehanort has connections to Sora- so one could argue this is one way that would apply. And if Xenanort does, that would make that apply also to all the norts ..

But what if she battles an enemy who is not a Nort? Like, a Heartless or a Nobody or a new Disney villain. These powers wouldn't work on them.

Furthermore, how would her powers work from a gameplay standpoint? Simply breaking the enemy's mind like she did with Repliku is too broken to be viable, specially when you take into account the possibility of an Online mode. Would you seriously to play an online mode where one of the opponent players can simply break you in two seconds with a move you can't dodge and which level difference between attacker and defender is irrelevant?

(Well, there's League of Legends, but I don't know enough about it to make an intelligent point about it being different or not)

Dude I've already said she would prolly use both so I don't know what your point is with this? I just gave you an idea of how Nomura could also use her powers.

My point is about using her powers. They aren't viable in gameplay, so I can't see how they can be used outside of cutscenes.

But that brings us back to my point from my very first post that she would prolly use BOTH. Meaning she would also use her keyblade. Don't see the problem here .???

( assuming that she'll even be playable at that )

My point is about a character having an ability that can only be used in cutscenes. It would be pretty lame if there was no way to use a character's special abilities when playing as them. That's why I don't think she would use her powers at all unless they are retconned, or if they decide to restore Sora's memories of Castle Oblivion.

Pretty sure she will, even if only in the Online mode Nomura hinted.

Some battles could possibly take place in cutscenes if Nomura wanted to use this power like that just like he showed Namine firetrucking up Repliku in a cutscene so your point about not using that power at all is moot . It 's silly to say that he couldn't find a way to utilize her powers if he wanted too. Namine is also an anomoly and might have even more to her powers than has been previously shown as well ..This is Nomura we are talking about.

Why does everyone assume Namine's contributions have to be in battle, cutscene or playable?  She had tremendous influence during CoM and parts of KH2 and she was an NPC the whole time.  There are ways to be important and a noncombatant.

I agree but most discussion here is about how her fighting style/ method of defense will be.

Either way I am fine if she gets a keyblade, but I don't think it is in her character.

She is a  background Helper as in very important, but does not have to be on the front lines to be important.

But what is Namine? If you look at in a stand point, she was created by Sora's body with Kairi's heart which has no darkness.

She didn't have a physical body without a heart unlike Roxas who had Ventus's heart and Sora's body. How does she exist? How did she get a body. Is she a project heart?

No, she is the true definition of a nobody. She is not supposed to exist. Her mere existence is an anomaly. She is made of nothing.

Kairi's heart was in Sora, but in a sense Kairi's heart used Sora's body to create a nobody without a soul, body, heart or shell.

Therefore, she is Kairi's nobody (but you could argue Sora's Second Nobody or SoKai Merger)

Awww Thanks !  I am a girl though xD

Xemnas prolly could but chose not to for reasons- as stated by Nomura ( he had a lot to hide as we see in DDD which gave him reasons)

Dude, guy, they're both gender neutral by this point. I mean, I call a group of people "you guys" without thinking twice, right?

oh ok . That's cool xD I just always clarify bc there are some who thought i was a guy :P

I never said she needs to be playable in the story, but since the chances of us getting an Online mode are big, as Nomura said he's considering Online content, I'm pretty sure she'll be playable when Online. I mean, didn't they make the entire Organization plus five other characters playable in Days's Mission Mode?
