I am looking for a certain type of game to play. I don't care if its a RPG or not. Basically I wanna play a game where the character/s are having conflicting opinions about themselves, trying to find who they are and what their purpose is. Perhaps where the character/s is also struggling in a battle with himself. Does anyone understand where I'm coming from?

Silent Hill 3.

Alice: Madness Returns

and Mysterycasefiles: Dire Grove.

FINAL FANTASY XIII

Final Fantasy VI kind of has that going on with one of the main protagonists, Terra. The World Ends With You has that to a lesser degree, as well, only the main character doesn't necessarily doubt himself. He does learn a lot more about himself throughout the game, though. These are the best two examples I can think of, sorry if they're not all that great.

Devil May Cry,Bioshock Infinite,Far Cry 3, The Warriors(PS2),Hitman Absolution,Psychonauts,Final Fantasy 13&7, and lastly Infamous 1,2,or Festival of Blood

The world ends with you is the game you're searching for my friend

Kingdom Hearts

No, seriously, though. Anything from the Metal Gear Solid series. Particularly 2 and 4. MGSV is going to take that to the next degree, as well.

EDIT Oh, also, Assassin's Creed III.

The world ends with you, FF VI and IX.
