currently One Piece is the most popular manga worldwide ever since DBZ was finished with the Buu saga

 

I can see why people like One Piece but I can never get into it.

 

And Naruto got worse and worse after the end of Pain's attack on the leaf village in Shippuden

 

Kishimoto can no longer lead a story with consistent quality.......I won't spoil anything but the latest chapters in the Naruto Manga is just bullshit

In my opinion, Hetalia.

Cowboy Bebop is a fairly popular show, and Sword Art Online is still rising in popularity. And if you can count it, Pokemon is probably the most popular anime.

I thought DBZ was the most popular manga/anime ever. I also like Naruto and One Piece and think they're up there too, though

actually naruto is starting to recover now that the real baws can unleash his power.

I don't really know what the single most popular one is(I'd say a tie between SAO, Hetalia, and One Piece), but I do know what is one of the least popular ones(out of the good ones, anyways). That least popular one would be the .Hack// franchise.

I feel like whenever someone says the word "Anime" people will automatically think of DBZ, Naruto, and One Piece. Before I ever saw anime I would always think of those three....never knew what they were but I had at least heard of them because they were that popular.

I'd say Dragonball and Naruto are the most well known. I mean, even people who aren't into anime tend to generalize those two when they hear about anime.

I agree with all the anime/manga on your list would be considered the most popular. By the way, it's spelled Fairy Tail, not Fairy Tale. 

However, I would add in Sword Art Online. The pure publicity and hyped fans has not been unnoticed especially after they announced Sword Art Online II. But the anime is based off a light novel series, not manga.

Well sooner or later i'm pretty sure that Attack on Titan will be more popular than One Piece in the future.

Dragon ball z is probably the most popular anime altho for some animes like naruto and one piece are popular too. not to mention attack on titan is increasing it's popularity so i dunno which is the most popular.

It'll take some time though. One Piece is now streaming on Crunchyroll along with Attack on Titan.

So far, the audience retention rate for One Piece is higher....plus the fact there's still episodes being released. 

Bleach/Naruto.  Even if you don't read or watch them, if you like anime you more than likely know about them.  

Also since they're shown on kids shows like cartoon network probably Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z cause kids who don't even realize anime is a different thing from cartoons would watch them.  

Well it wouldn't entirely matter what I believe. The popularity of an anime/manga is supposed to be a fact.But if you're asking us to make assumptions then it would have to be Pokemon. It goes without saying that a  HUGE number of people have watched pokemon, but i guess that just means it's well known rather than "popular".I think one piece is the most popular since it sold the most( manga) copies in 2013. Attack on Titan only sold the second highest number of copies because of the anime which prompted everyone to read the manga and spoil themselves

TBH i never considered Pokemon as an Anime.About Attack on Titan its matter of time on how much popular it will get.
