I love the Zelda series, I need to play more of them though. I own most of the games, but I've only finished the first so far. My favorite is probably Wind Waker, I got the HD version recently and I've enjoyed it so far.

Well I like a couple zelda games. Not many though. :P Does that count?

That does not only showcase the evolution of the series, but the evolution of gaming in general. I honestly, have only watched friends play this. I have yet to. It seems really interesting, and I may buy it.

I only own like 6, and I made the thread. No one said you have to be a diehard fan of the series to come in here and talk anout it :P

Lest we forget to mention some of the amazing music the series has graced us with..

The Zelda series has to be one of the best video game series ever created.

This series is amazing and personally one of my favorites, but has anyone noticed that the only black characters in the series are evil or oppose the protagonist? The Legend of Racism.

You know what would be interesting? A game that completely diverges from the LoZ timeline, where Link and Zelda's roles are reversed. (Zelda the wielder of courage and Link the wielder of wisdom.) Playing as Zelda would be insanely cool. She's had warrior elements before (more on that in the spoiler tag below), so it's not out of her character at all to take action in the face of adversity. In fact in most games she already does that, you just don't get to see it.

This idea came to me when I went through the ending of Wind Waker, where Zelda is instrumental in you defeating Ganon when she takes on the bow and Light Arrows. I heard that she might also do this at the end of Twilight Princess but I don't know for sure? Not to mention how much of a badass Sheik was.

Point is, I just really want a game where I play as Zelda. I think it would be awesome.

But on that same note I don't think it's something Nintendo will ever do... they've changed bits of the LoZ formula before but never something so drastic as changing your player character from anyone other then the Green tunic'd hero.

Zelda is one of the very few cases in gaming where every game is a masterpiece! ;) Just like Kingdom Hearts, there exists no such thing as a "bad game" in the franchise!

Excluding those 3 games of course, since Nintendo didn't make them

We don't speak of them. They are those that shall not be named.

I always wanted to play the zelda games, I should get some for the gamecube or something this year. xD

Plus Link is really cool. I also like Zelda a lot too she's smart and beautiful and i hear she's a very helpful character too :)

Girl power!!! :D

So, yeah. Now that I've played more of it, I think I can safely say Wind Waker HD makes it into my top 5 games of all time list. I freaking love that game, everyone should go buy a Wii U right now and play that game. (Joking on the last bit but seriously, awesome game.)

Wind Waker is a uniquely amazing experience. It is unfair to other Zelda games to play it before you play other Zelda games.

Which is probably part of the reason I'm so hard on Twilight Princess.

Not counting Four Swords, it's actually my most recent Zelda game. It probably is a good thing that I didn't start with it, I'd be too harsh towards the others. xD

You have every reason to be. :P

I didn't start with it and I'm super freaking harsh about Twilight Princess. xD

Masterpiece after masterpiece, and then there's TP...Alright story, cool characters, tried to be way too dark, and completed with "hold you hand" gameplay (for the gamecube version of course. We dun like to talk much about the Wii version...).

I rented the Wii version of Twilight Princess a while ago (Library doesn't have Gamecube games. :/). I liked it, but not as much as the others. Sadly, the Gamecube version is freaking expensive these days, so unless I can find a cheap copy, I might be stuck getting the Wii version when I finally do buy the game...

I'm sure you could find a cheap copy in great condition on ebay. I did with Mario Party 4. $30 isn't much when you're buying a game on ebay that's worth hundreds on Amazon.

The major flaw with TP for me though was that they held your hand through combat, puzzles, and the freaking collection.

I'll have to look later. Link Between Worlds is still my #1 priority with Zelda games I still need to get. After that, all I need are Twilight Princess, Four Swords Adventures, and Minish Cap. Not sure which to go for next. But yeah, I've found some pretty good deals on eBay compared to Amazon before.

I only got through the first dungeon in TP, so I don't remember it too well. I wasn't a big fan of the wolf form though, I prefer playing through the game in standard Hylian form. :/

50% of the game.

I'll reserve posting my full thoughts on Twilight Princess until I've actually finished the game completely.

But in other news: If you guys haven't heard yet.

Four Swords is on the 3DS eShop for the low price of no dollars, it's free. I'm not sure if it will only be on the store for a short time, or if it will only be free for a short time, either way, pick it up while it's free. What will it hurt?

Also, A Link to the Past is now on the Wii U virtual console. It was on the Wii Shop Channel for a lonnnggg time but now it's finally on the eShop, so if you want some A Link to the Past gamepad action, pick that up. I hear it's a great game or something, I dunno. :P
