Why does FINAL FANTASY IV have voice acting but FINAL FANTASY III doesn't?

Featured Replies

IV on ds came later and had a pretty solid story to begin with. III on ds doesn't have a very in depth story.

Just because?

You're so helpful.

They aren't just on DS now mate.

Due to develop. When FF3 Go out to sale, the NDS was barely new, so they were in a blank slate about the possibilities. When they launched FF IV, they knew the limits of the console and what they could possibly improve, one of these was the sound. As for de IOS PSP and Android games... well... call it lazyness. xD after all both games were ripped from the DS base and just graphic and controls update.

Because voices tend to help that magnificent opera scene

I enjoyed III perfectly fine without voices on the DS

1Because IV came later in the DS life cycle and Square managed to put some voice acting there

Why didn't they add voices for the android version of FF3 is anyone's guess....maybe they finally realized that mobile gaming isn't worth it

2FFIV had an actual story....I mean an actual deep story, something that FF3 severely lacked

the original FF3 barely had a story it was like the first game where you pick up classes of nameless people

Sure they made a couple of main characters in the DS remake, but it wasn't worth adding voice acting as there wasn't that much of a story in 3 to begin with

Unlike FF4 which had the potential to expand it's story more as we got flashbacks for Cecil's and Kain's past that wasn't in the original game or any other version for that matter along with a couple of extra cutscenes.

Smartphone and tablet gaming isn't worth it? LOL. If that was really the case they wouldn't remake The After Years in 3D exclusively for iOS and Android. They seem to care more about smartphone and tablet gaming than handhelds.

Square gives phones/tablets quick ports of old games, while handhelds get bigger titles like Bravely Default. They totally care more about mobile gaming.

Before Crisis, The After Years, Dimensions and more would like a word with you. I also didn't add that the iOS and Android versions improve upon the handhelds.

Before Crisis- More milking of FFVII

After Years- Okay, you've got me there, but the remakes are a lot better

Dimensions- This one wasn't that popular

Then there's All The Bravest... Ugh.

Better graphics? Oh boy, sooo much better.

Before Crisis is a game so many people want released outside of Japan.

How's a 3D remake of The After Years. :P

It's a free spin-off game. Lol.

Higher resolution, no compression.

Still milking FFVII

I'd much rather play the PSP version. I prefer turn based RPGs in 2D

Still shows that Square's lazy

I don't care about graphics.

Don't think they care, whatever makes money.

How on earth does releasing a spin-off game make them lazy? Lol.

We aren't talking graphics, but alright I guess you don't buy HD remasters then.

The game's concept is what was lazy. It's literally the most mind-numbing game I've ever played.

I love how you assume stuff like that. I'll buy a remaster if it adds features that make it worth buying again, not for a pretty new coat of paint.

Well HD remasters don't really add anything that wasn't already in the original game.

KH1.5- Final Mix edition. Bonus points for including my favorite game ever.

Final Fantasy X HD- International version that I could never play. I'm not buying this, but it still adds something.

Wind Waker HD- Adds the Swift Sail to speed up sailing, online communication, and makes things a lot faster.

Those are just three examples.

What? HD 1.5 ReMIX doesn't add anything new except for an item and ability.

FINAL FANTASY X/X-2 HD Remaster only adds the Audio Drama.

1.5 has the Final Mix content available outside Japan. That's literally what I just said.

FFX HD also brings the International version to NA, which we never got. From what I've heard, NA is the only region that didn't get it.

That content is like 12 years old.

Yes, the International content was never released in North America but it could easily be imported.

Both your examples are over a decade old.

But it's new to everyone but Japan.

Importing a PS2 and some expensive games when I could play them cheaper on PS3? No thanks.

So? Isn't the point of an HD remaster to bring back older games?

Australia and Europe got the International content over a decade ago.

Ummm. You could have just modded your PS2 or got SwapMagic among other methods. I'm saying you could have done this over a decade ago.

Yes, but you said it yourself you don't care about resolution.

Because of the story.

the 4 kids of III got a very little more personallty than the ff I 4 WoL.

in 4 just the 5 characters you play in end would have more voice acting for a reason than 3.

You're so helpful.
