Okay I am not entirely sure where the firetruck this thread is supposed to go but this is a confusion I REALLY needed clearing.

 

Suppose I was born on 18th April, 1999, (okay fine this might be my real birthdate)

 

How old would I be this April? If I was "15-years-old" does that mean I've lived 14 years or am I working my way to 16 years, so then I've lived 15 years? THIS BUGS THE SHIT OUT OF ME SOMEBODY firetruckING HELP ME NAO

No, that doesn't make sense. How will she have passed 15 years, when she's only starting the 15th year of her life.

 

Born in 1999, 14 years later is now, 15th year of being alive starting this April.

EDIT:

Okay now I'm questioning my own math.

 

The question posited by Shera is "When I turn 15, will that mean I've lived for 15 years, or will that mean I'm entering the 15th year of my life?"

 

Going by this site: http://www.convertunits.com/dates/from/Apr+18,+1999/to/Apr+18,+2014, the day she turns 15 will mean she's been alive for 14 years and 12 months... 15 years, so going by that, Amber Cole is correct. I rescind my former statement.
