Man, I don't think that Nintendo has ever given this much hype and advertising to one of their video games before. They are really hyping this game up and advertising it really well. Heck, they even said that they will continue advertising this game throughout the entire year even after the game is released. That right there shows how much much Nintendo is really is trying to make sure this game becomes a success and sell millions of units along with Smash bros 4. I hope Mario kart 8 sells  just as much units as Mario Kart Wii has over the years.

i personaly am more eager to play smash bros 4 but i still cant wait to play mario kart 8! ^_^

Well first of all I hate Mario kart games cause they get worse and worse with each game. I like games that u can unlock new characters and tracks and yet this one you have all the characters unlocked from the beginning also you don't reveal the entire character list before the game comes out. Second of the always give us new gimmicks to try and spice it up but fail in the process. Mario Kart should just be driving on the track and hitting your opponents with items. All these gimmicks distract you from the fun that it once brought you.

Okay well I respect your opinion. But how are the games getting worse and worse when the Mario Kart games have been selling well with each new installment? I mean Mario kart Wii is the best selling Mario Kart game because it sold a total of 30 million units. And I can understand why you're upset about the gimmicks but I honestly think that it really makes the games more interesting. I mean, sure since it's a racing game but that doesn't really mean that Nintendo can't be innovative with it. That's what makes Nintendo stand out more than Sony and Microsoft. They always try to create something new and interesting.

They can't really afford to fail at this point. I'm sure it'll be fun, but I stopped playing Nintendo games years ago. KH games are the only exception.

Mario Kart gets better with every game. The characters will more than likely be unlockable, and Nintendo just want to show us the variety of characters to choose from.  The gimmicks are great!  Double Dash added two players on one kart at a time, and certain combinations made a real fun experience for the game. DS added the retro tracks, which made a great nostalgia hit for players who played Mario Kart in the past.  Wii added motion controlled steering, and you didn't really need to use it. You could still play it with the gamecube controllers.  Mario Kart 7 introduced underwater paths and you could take to the skies with you glider. Mario Kart 8 is adding anti-gravity to the playing field. It's a great feature and the looks of the game are extremely beautiful. I dun see how you can't enjoy something like Mario Kart when it brings so much to the table.   I hate Racing games, but Mario Kart is too damn beautiful and fun to pass up.

So in short im hoping that Mario Kart 8 is more if a challenge. And the unlockables aren't so easy to be unlocked.

I'm hoping it's easier. I wanted to try to play as Baby Luigi, but it's near impossible for me to get him in Wii due to the ridiculous objectives required to unlock him.

I can't freaking wait. I mean, this game looks AMAZING. This will possibly beat out Double Dash for my favorite in the series. So far, my only complaint would be that the roster feels a bit... lacking. I like who they've shown so far, but I'm hoping for some more surprises (Iwata said there would be a lot of surprises after he showed the Koopalings. I doubt that anyone would connect that to Baby Rosalina and the new metal Peach) in the future. Still holding out for Kirby... That freaking Smash trailer tease.

 

Also, on top of that, I'll be getting a free copy of Pikmin 3 with it.

Believe me, I missed out on so much during my childhood. Sure I made up for some stuff recently, but it isn't the same feeling I get compared to when I was young.

Like don't get me wrong I LOVE MARIO KART! I HAVE MARIO KART 7 STILL! yet I can't afford the Wii U atm cause I honestly want a PS4 first for KH3 because I'll be moving soon and I don't know how it's going to work out for me.
