Am I dreaming, or did Square Enix announce Kingdom Hearts III indirectly in 2005 or this was just a coincidence? I really don't know which, both seem like something Square Enix would do.

This is a coincidence . SE , as far as I know(I might be wrong), never confirmed that KH III will be released in 2015 . And I am pretty sure they would not let the fans just find out on their own .

Back then, the Kingdom Hearts team planned to develop Kingdom Hearts III instead they're developing FINAL FANTASY XV.

 

I'll also add that version of the game was released in 2006.
