Oh man, am I in trouble...

Posted

Long story short, Dad screwed up my PS2 and now I can't play any games! You know that screen before it gets to the game with the little blue balls of light? We can't get past that screen no matter how long we wait. We tried pressing the X button to get into the menu but it said "Disc read error".

My dad is out golfing right now but he said we had better get the PS2 working for when he comes home, so anyone got any suggestion? I'm all out of ideas.

what, is he going to be mad at YOU if you dont fix it, cuz i dont know what happened but you say its his fault

The same thing happened to my friends PS2. It never worked again....

But then again, we didn't know how to fix it properly. Maybe you have a chance, but if it doesn't work, my condolences to you.

It's seems like you're implying your dad's threatening you to fix it before he gets back, yet you claim he was the one who damaged it in the first place. If it was his fault, shouldn't he, as the adult and the parent, take responsibility for his actions?

And...I can't help. I've never had this problem before. Does this problem occur with every game, or just specific ones?

try blowing on the fan on the back of the ps2..that may work

There's a fan, I never knew that! And yeah my dad blames my brother and I for braking it even though it stoped working when he tryed to use it, he's a really unfair guy

What happened to make it this way?

Did your dad drop it or something?

Aw man blowing in the fan didn't work. Is there any place that I can take it to get it fixed?

kingdomlanelover on the job! OKay so what you want to do when you put a disc is there will be this little thingie at the top of the disk thingie, what it does is when the disk spins, it acts as a cleaner. Put a disk in, then make sure that thing is pushed up agianst the disk.

Gamestop or do this. When my dsi stopped working I went on the nintendo site and found the section for your consoles and handhelds that aren't working properly. You find some request form, send them an email and I filled out a form online. Then they're send a envelope with papers and things in it to fill out. They'll send it in the mail. Then I bought a shipping box and put the dsi and forms in it and sent it nintendo and got it back in about a week. I belive sony has a similar thing like this. Just check their site and find the section about it and do as it says. If I were you I'd send it to sony instead of gamestop cause sony does it for free and gamestop charges. Hope I helped!!

Sweet! I'll definatly try that

I'll ask my brother tomorrow and see what he says. :] He's really good with stuff like that.

Same thing happened to my PS2. Try opening up the back and cleaning it out carefully. PS2s can be fixed. Mine was once in the washer and it was fixed.

Go to your local game store and bring it in and have them look at it and see what the problem is it's probebly that it needs a new scaner.

go to GameStop to ask them about that and isn't it more like ur father's fault, not urs?

i had this problem before, but the problem wasnt my ps2, it was the games, check out ur games

personally, if all the games dont work, its most likely the system, not the games, most likely

well check it out, probly one of the chips in it

People, stop telling her to go to GameStop. I went there to get mine fixed and they said we'd have to go to some sorta Sony place to get mine fixed.

Try running around like a mad man then Benny Hill to your local Game shop, buy another one, Benny Hill home then charge your dad for it. Might work lol

I asked my brother and he had no idea. Sorry~ xD;;

My PS2 had the same problem. My dad literally took it apart, cleaned the inside, fiddled around with the disc spinner a little bit, and it was working again. So take the PS2 to someone who can do something like that.

If it doesn't work, then I'm out of ideas.
