He's been instructed by his physician not to travel overseas in the immediate future, and so he will not be making the trip to Los Angeles," the representative said. "Please understand that it is business as usual for Mr. Iwata, and he continues his normal duties as president of Nintendo Co., Ltd. while he remains in Japan. As always, he will be actively involved in all of Nintendo's activities at the show."

Nintendo does most of their events/announcements digitally, so he doesn't necessarily need to be in LA. I hope he makes a quick recovery, as we dunno what the health issue is. Hopefully it's nothing too serious.

Given that it's business as usual and he's still doing his job, it's probably not TOO serious.

i hope he gets better, but on the up side maybe they will get masahiro sakurai to do some of his stuff.

Once again, Nintendo's Digital Event will be pre-recorded, so Iwata will likely still be the one who does all of the talking. He just won't be at the actual event itself. We'll still be getting "directly to you."
