Because I need to start touring colleges soon, I've been doing a lot of soul searching and deciding what I really want to do in college. Since there are so many unique and cool things out there, I was wondering what kinds of things you guys are majoring and minoring in or plan to major/minor in.

I think I'm going to double major in political science and history and minor in marine science, but I'm not positive. If a double major proves too difficult I may major in political science and change history to a minor.

So what about you guys?

I have a BA with a Major in History and a Minor in Film Studies, as well as a diploma in Video Production.

Just got my BA in English.  However, because writing is so ubiquitous, it's one of those majors where you're on your own in deciding what to do with it.  I'm slanting towards editing or copywriting for businesses since it seems stable.  Doing something freelance or creative would be great, but it's not something I can count on happening so I'm erring on the side of pragmatism over passion.

I am going for a Psychology and Statistics. Though I care more about research than counseling. That being said I personally didn't pick out a major (or majors) until I nearly was graduating from a 2 year college. (I am starting at a university in the fall)Edit: depending on class requirement overlaps, you probably won't have time for a double major and a minor if you plan on ONLY going to college for 8 semesters (4 years) That is where planning when you actually chose a university is useful. So you actually know what you need/want to take each semester to efficiently reach your goals. Though if you don't care about the time it will take, just improvising as you go along isn't bad.

I was a major in Digital Art and Multimedia Design in my last school. But I've transferred to another university and am now majoring in Graphic Design and Animation with a concentration in animation. I plan on minoring in Spanish or German, but if there's a language I wish to learn that the school doesn't offer I can still take it. I wanted to double major with the Spanish but I'm still thinking about it.

I'm currently pursuing my BS in Business Administration, concentration in management. Just completed my third year of uni two or three weeks ago.

Fun fun stuff.  xD

I'm in the same boat, I'm not sure what I'm going to do.

Basically, I'm considering English and Computer Science. I also really like Philosophy, but I'm not exactly sure what you could DO with a degree in Philosophy (heck, I'm not positive that such a thing exists). I'm thinking about doing something with computer coding, but the thing is I don't know a lick of it and I'm sure it will be harder to go into college without having attempted to dabble in it a little. On the English side, what I really would love to do is Creative Writing, but that's not exactly the best means of supporting yourself. I don't really want to be a teacher.

...

I'm a mess. My junior year ends in two days and this is the extent of my thoughts for the future. X_X

I'm about halfway through getting my BA in Chemistry, and hopefully after that I can get to work on a Pharm D.

So I'm basically double majoring in chemistry and student debt.

I admire you to no end for majoring in Chemistry.  Dat Ochem murders my brain.  Well, the reaction mechanism parts anyway.  Which are the important parts.  x.x

Kudos to you.

I'm one semester away from a BA in Microbiology and a minor in Chemistry.

Viruses are my favorite.  >:}

Just don't go crazy and develop smallpox 2.0.

I'm going for computer science.

In August I'm aiming for Video Game design and development, game coding and animation.

A couple of points. A degree in Philosophy does exist though I'm not all that sure what one can do with that other than teaching. As for the computer coding part, not to worry, the majority of the class will be in the same position as you, having never coded in the least before. There's that one superfreak who's been coding since he was in his mother's womb but the majority will be new to the whole thing, which is good because it means everyone's willing to work together which yields better results, which is why the Computer Scientists are known to have some of the highest GPAs upon leaving uni. Oh and yeah there is a large learning curve at the start I'm afraid but get past that and the rest is cake. You can do it (if you want)!

Currently working towards my degree in Computer Science and Chemistry. In the UK we don't really have or use the term major or minor but yeah I suppose it's almost like a double major.

Oh, thank you! That actually makes me feel better. :D
