What does 358/2 Days spoil for KH2?

Posted

I posted earlier about showing my dad walkthroughs of the games, and I was wondering whether I should show him the HD version of Days first or wait for 2.5's KH2, then show him Days. I know that Days has spoilers for KH2, but my dad already knows some of them, like what a Nobody is and how one is formed, the existence of Organization XIII, and that Roxas is Sora's Nobody.  That said, I think the only big spoiler that leaves is that the "Ansem" we see in KH2 is actually Riku. Considering how strongly hinted at that is in the game (and the fact that when I watched Days with no knowledge of KH2, I was SHOCKED when I first saw Riku-Ansem), I'm seriously considering showing him Days before KH2. Are there any other points of KH2 that get spoiled in Days?

I will consider all of the organization faces as spoilers. I was very surprised 8 years ago when we first saw Xemnas face at the 1000 heartless battle. Days show it to you in the begging cutscene. Plus, he wouldn't be emotionally involved with the characters of Days if he didn't saw them before. If I were you, I will show him 2, then Days, then BBS, then Re:Coded, and then 3D. That's the order they are intended to be played

Just go in order and save the trouble

I'm planning to go in release order (I went in chronological order and missed all kinds of references and such), but I want to show him KH2FM in English, which isn't happening until December (I'm not fond of the English patch), so I'm thinking of Days coming first so that we don't have quite as long to wait between games. We'll be done with KH1FM sometime this week, and Re: CoM won't take too awfully long because we're skipping a lot of gameplay. He's not into the gameplay as much as the story, and I find most of the general world battles in Re: CoM boring to watch...

Your dad likes KH? U must have one awesome dad!

It took a bit, but after a few years of him not getting why I like it so much I started showing him a walkthrough of KH1FM. Took him a little while to get into it, but we just finished the first visit to Hollow Bastion. AND he made a KH reference yesterday without me even saying anything. He's hooked. ^^

The un-revealed Organization members I guess.  They had them hooded at the start of KH2 for suspense.  I personally think since some people do have confusion to go in chronological order (BBS, KH1, Days til Axel leaves, COM, Back to Days, KH2, Coded, DDD) but a lot of people for a lot of games tend to say go in release order cause there's things they put in games set before other games previously released that you'd need to have played to understand the wee references.

Your dad is awesome!

358 doesn't so much 'spoil' as enlighten. It's whole point was to fill in the blanks. The only spoiler I can really think of for KHII is the one you just mentioned, so if you're worried about that, I'd go with KHII first.

I played Days before I saw any of KHII.  It was a completely different experience.  The Roxas intro in KHII is not the same.
