Setrex 1,031 Posted July 18, 2014 (edited) The fan translation of Final Fantasy Type-0 has been shut down and all the posts relating to the project have been removed. Skybladecloud who was working on the translation released this statement, Unfortunately I’m forced to remove my posts and pages related to the popular Final Fantasy Type-0 fan translation project. That’s right, certain game company thinks that threats and false accusations are the way to treat its biggest fans. For the time being I can’t answer questions related to this matter, but I’ll write a more comprehensive post about all this once I get the chance. I hope you understand, and as always I appreciate your support (that I might need more that ever in the near future). Thank you very much. ~Sky Pretty disappointing to those involved with the project and who wanted to try the game on the PSP in English, but this news definitely must come in wake of Square Enix recently announcing that Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will be coming to the west on the PS4 and Xbox One in the future. Shard the Gentleman 2,891 Posted July 18, 2014 That's kinda sad. My friend helped work on this, I wonder what his reaction is.
Elrandir 783 Posted July 18, 2014 Oh, Square Enix...You used to be cool, you've changed , Man. It's sad to see all the hard work of Sky and the team go to waste because Square Enix decided to unveil Type-0 HD. If only they made that move...I dunno....around 2 or 3 years ago. My best wishes to Sky and everyone who was involved in the making of the fan translation! Thanks to them I manage to understand the beautiful, yet sad, story of Final Fantasy Type-0. I'm currently playing the 5 Chapter in my second playthrough. 3 Dio Brando, Sendou Aichi and Setrex reacted to this
TerraRedeemed 255 Posted July 18, 2014 You guys have to remember that Square Enix is first and foremost a company and that they have to protect their property. It was bound to happen sooner or later. I'm honestly surprised the project lasted through completion. It's too bad that all their work went down the drain but that's just how it goes. 2 atheist123 and juma086 reacted to this

Source: http://www.skybladecloud.net/type-0-translation-patch-unavailable/ So instead of actually supporting the people who did the translation and hire them to localize the game.....they ran a cease and desist order on them Look I can get something like asking them to shut it down but threatening them and accusing them when in reality they helped bringing people's attention to the game? That's a dickish treatment You guys have to remember that Square Enix is first and foremost a company and that they have to protect their property. Dude what kind of violation did they commit? They didn't sell the game for free all they did is just create a patch for the game to translate the menus and subtitles If they did something like say making the game downloadable for free then I might've agreed with you but what Square did is bullshit 1 Sendou Aichi reacted to this
SmashLegendRiku 97 Posted July 18, 2014 The worst part is that they waited 2 years before shutting it down, I mean REALLY? Wait until everyone is hyped and then shooting it down is just stupid - don't tell me they didn't know it existed when every gaming site was covering it 2 years ago geeeeeeeeez. Good thing I downloaded the first full patch on my laptop back in June. 2 Setrex and Dio Brando reacted to this
Sora96 17,256 Posted July 19, 2014 Square Enix has already translated Type-0 themselves and will be treating it as a new game outside of Japan. They don't want to have a fan-made English version running around while they're trying to promote what they're counting as a new game. It's completely understandable. Yes, this does suck for the people who worked on it but I'm sure they understand Square Enix's reasons. At the very least, everyone who really wanted the fan-translation was available to obtain it before it was taken down. 1 juma086 reacted to this
