What albums has everyone enjoyed so far this year?

 

My Top 5, in alphabetical order, are:

 

Allegaeon - Elements of the Infinite: Technical Death Metal, similar to Gojira and sometimes like Avenged Sevenfold. Epic.

 

Animals as Leaders -The Joy of Motion: Instrumental progressive metal. This band is quite djent-y which may turn some people off, but the second half of this album is great, especially the Latin jazz infused Para Mexer.

 

Fallujah - The Flesh Prevails: Technical Death Metal. Good stuff. Nice ambient music, mixed with heavy death metal vocals and guitars.

 

Future- Honest: Hip-hop. Great production values, stupid lyrics (typical gangsta stuff, sweg, etc). Good collaborations with Kanye West and Pusha T, among others.

 

Jack White- Lazaretto: Alternative. Jack White returns with a more consistent album that his previous solo album (Blunderbuss), with a stronger focus on female/male vocal harmonies and soulful instrumentation.

Ah, interesting.

Only one this year since it was a summer released everything else is being released in the fall for what I'm looking forward too.
