Okay so there has been talk of a possible KH3D:HD remaster on this forum, which I’m not going to deny i want. However there have been people saying it would take too long to remaster hindering the development of KH3. I've realised that a lot of the bottom screen mechanics cannot be done on the PS3 without major changes and making it on the PS4 wouldn't be any better (since you still wouldn't be able to see the bottom screen).

But how about instead of remastering the game as well a game, make it into a movie like 358/2 days or Re:Coded and have it as DLC for KH 2.5? Or even a separate Blu-ray movie or something. That way there wouldn't be any complications, the only thing that i see would need to be developed is maybe battle cutscenes like Re:Coded and of course HD textures. And I’m pretty sure this should not in any way hinder KH3's development, reasons being:

- All cutscenes are done, animated and voiced.

- Only battle cutscenes have to be made.

- No voice acting is needed.

- Music does not need to be remastered.

- It only one game.

There might be more reasons i missed, but please if you think that in some strange way even this isn't possible state a logical reason. If you can think of something, then i will take it all back.

People from Osaka team would have to take their time to remaster it. And Square Enix only didn't remaster 358/2 Days and Re:coded since they would take the amount of work it would take to remake them.

Releasing it on a Blu-ray wouldn't sell. No point releasing it on PS3 either since the PS3's era is about to end.

You make a lot of good points and it is in the realm possibility, but i doubt it will happen.

If by some chance it was remade into a HD movie it would most likely come out on the PS4 alongside KH3

Fair point, what about after KH3 is released then? maybe as DLC for KH3?

Doesn't have to be DLC. They can easily release it as a downloadable title.

The PS3 is not fading away just like that, they're still going to be making games for it well into the next year, not everyone has a PS4 yet, it wouldn't make sense. To say that nothing will be a possibility because the system wouldn't be "interesting" anymore feels too dismissive of an argument for me.

As for the prospect of the remaster, I think either game or theater mode would work out fine and would leave KH3 unhindered in any major way. They could always form a smaller team, and not all of Osaka has to be delegated to it. They were able to have two different teams working on 2.5 and 3 at the same time and as a result 3 wasn't delayed, according to them. If it was delayed, it would probably be by a couple of months, a year at most. The game isn't going to come out for another three or so years anyway, I'm already prepared to wait. There are many ways to about doing this, it doesn't have to be an "either-or" type of thing.

For a theater mode, although most of the scenes wouldn't have to be revoiced, they still might need to record lines for some of the new scenes they add in their, aside from the battle scenes. Even with just battle scenes there would still be about another good hour and a half of empty footage to fill, so they would still have to reinterpret other new scenes, such as moving a long from one location to another, switching between Sora and Riku, and maybe even extending a few scenes. I'm not saying that there would need to be more voice work for a theater mode, but odds are that if they add more scenes like that, they may want some new lines recorded.

To me, 3D is a game that could go either way and I would still be satisfied. Ideally I would like to see it reworked as a game, but if all of the work and time comes down to it, then it might best be done as a theater mode. Either way can still work, because Square has been able to work on two differently scaled projects at the same time with little to no hindrance on either one. If anything, the only project holding 3 back would be FF XV, which they have been surprisingly more quiet about than KH3, but I could be wrong.

They didn't have two different teams. The Osaka team handled both HD collections whilst working on KH3.

The PS3 is fading away. There's only two more PS3 exclusives and everything after that is cross-gen platform and Square Japan doesn't do that.

What I want but highly unlikely is a collection containing 358/2 Days and Re:coded HD plus 3D fully remastered and playable on the WII U. That way we could have the bottom screen be at the controller. Of course this would lead to the games being spread across the consoles again, but it's the only way I see which allows the bottom screen to survive. If it were to be on the PS3 -- which I much rather prefer -- they would have too change a lot of the gameplay mechanics.

And where is it written in stone that "Square Enix Japan shalt not create anything cross-gen"? Since when have we ever known exactly what Square Enix was thinking or planning on doing? It wouldn't be for multiple systems and as far as I've been able to find, there is no official statement about the state of the PS3 and how soon PS3 exclusive games will stop being made. So far all I'm hearing from you are bold claims that I'm just supposed to believe, and so far I haven't been able to find anything to back them up. The last games for the PS2 were released in 2013 and 2014. It lost a lot of momentum over the last half-decade, sure, but it still had games made for it the whole way, more than 6 years after it's successor was released. The PS4 has only been out for a year, yet, from what I think I understand, you seem to be under the impression that it is already set up to completely replace the PS3 in about one year. Maybe I'm throwing things a bit out of proportion here, but it just seems to me that you believe that the PS3 will just stop within a matter of months. It will be at least 5 years until they stop making games for the PS3, and from where I'm standing, there's plenty of room for 3D, one way or another. And the point isn't that Osaka worked on both, the point is that they divided work in a way that didn't slow KH3 down. They could split it up again or get another team, it wouldn't matter, they could still find a way to organize everything that wouldn't hinder KH3 at all, or at least that much. And even if they didn't want to make PS3 games any more, the way I see it there's plenty of room to work on 3D and then "give up" on PS3 games altogether after that. But again I say, it would NOT have to be corss-gen. That would suggest it would be for both PS3 AND PS4. The others weren't on anything else than PS3. If they "had" to do it on PS4, I still stand by my statement that they will find a way to divide the team that wouldn't interfere that much. They've done it before, they can do it again.

Square wants more people moving to new consoles for KH3/FFXV so they will make future HD games new gen rather than cash in on old gen.
