So the hype has built around this newly announced secret movie included in re:coded, but what could it actually be? Some YouTube videos have suggested that it could include either the contents of KH BBS vol. 2, KH3, an HD remaster of Dream Drop Distance, or the localization of KH chi.

First things first, it's likely not going to be a secret movie about KH chi. Why would a Japanese game include a trailer of KH chi when it's already released in Japan.

In recent interviews, Tetsuya Nomura has stated that Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance will be most likely to NOT get an HD remaster, but if there was, it'd be a downloadable game. My opinion is, there is going to be some sort of connection between the unexplained content of Birth By Sleep and lead into a short snippet of Kingdom Hearts 3 at the end of the secret trailer.

Sticking to my original theory and how it will affect Sora in III:

 

In the new secret ending, we'll find out Kairi and Riku are about to get married because secretly Kairi always loved Riku due to his giving himself up to the darkness in order to save her

So the new secret ending will be their wedding, then Kingdom Hearts III will open up with Donald and Goofy trying to find Sora for their next adventure, eventually locating him at a local tavern on Destiny Islands

Due to his not getting to be with Kairi he'll have five-o-clock shadow and a severe drinking problem, but they'll convince him to get back into the game and save the worlds yet again

Throughout Kingdom Hearts III he'll say things like "I'm getting too old for this" and constantly wake up screaming to flashbacks of all the former battles he's undergone over the past two years, all the while being plagued by hallucinations of a girl who looks strangely like Kairi but with black hair

They said it was linked to KH Chi right? It must be about the foretellers, like we saw in the teaser.

KH BBS vol2 is ages that I haven't heard about, and nomura said he won't release chi outside japan if I'm not mistaken.

but there are rumor that could be relate to KH3 or 3D... my thought is it could me various flashback of KH3D that goes to connect with some image from KH3.... more or less like in roxas's dream: with piece of various scenes or something like this:

i don't know what exactly is your thought, but mine it was related of the letter mickey gives to sora (if I remember correctly it's says about the mark of mastery, right?) and after read it (and maybe they speak or the is subtitle about che content) sora and riku depart from the island.

Personally, I think it will be about KH3. BBS Vol.2 is pretty much abandoned at this point on so it's no use even bothering to think about that one. KHX (Chi) would be pointless to reveal in a Secret Movie and since it will be included in both versions of the game (English and Japanese) there wouldn't be any point telling the Japanese that KHX will be localized. Dream Drop Distance, as much as I would like it to, most likely won't be getting a HD Remaster any time soon.

 

So, I'd bank on it being a KH3-Related Secret Movie. Also, your post was great.

I think he wanted a serious answer. -_- Save that stuff for the Random Section please. (Jeez, whoever said that too many people were too random outside of the Random section was right...)

Probably some hints about the Lost Masters, or they're gonna explain in depth what happens shortly after Kairi appeared at Yen Sid's tower

I call shenanigans! Nomura never said anything confirming or denying the possibility of 3D becoming an HD remaster! He said that they were considering what to do with it and that in retelling the series to new fans "it wouldn't make sense to leave one story out". Not only that, but Yause also said that they don't have any plans at the moment for 3D, but they are considering what to do with it. There are several articles that mark this, one of them being this one:

And before anyone says that Dream Drop Distance is too recent, let me remind you all of it's predecessor Re:Coded. No, NO GET BACK HERE! You're going to remember that game and you are going to like it!  :tongue: 

 

Ahem, anyway, Re:Coded was released to us in 2011. That was three years ago. Now it's being brought back to us in HD (cutscenes) in II.5 this year, 2014. Now correct me if my math is wrong (basic addition, difficult right?  ), but that would mean that we got an HD remaster of Re:Coded THREE YEARS after it was released. And so far I haven't heard of any complaints that Re:Coded was too recent to be included in II.5, so what's the problem with Dream Drop Distance? It's not like everybody who wants it is expecting it to come out tomorrow or anything. Odds are, it would be out by late 2015 or some time in 2016, and III would still be in development independent of that game. If it came out in 2015 at the earliest, it would have been THREE YEARS since it's original release. But wait, three years? But that's the exact same amount of year gap as Re:Coded!  :ohmy: And not only that, but before Re:Coded was released in 2011, Coded was first released in 2008, another three years before it got a massive DS overhaul! 

 

I think it's pretty obvious where I'm going with this. The minimum cut-off date for something being too recent to be reworked on would be about three years since it's release, at least in respect to the Kingdom Hearts series and the ReMIX series. If Re:Coded was such a "bad" game that most people would rather not remember (I still enjoyed it) and Dream Drop Distance was such a fun and awesome game that is apparently still fresh in people's minds, why is it that everybody who complained about Re:Coded is now completely fine with it being remade and seem to not only doubt the possibility of KH3D being remade, but also completely oppose the idea? It's like everything's gone topsy-turvy! 

 

Anyway, with that argument out of the way, I'll address the other things I feel like are being too broadly dismissed. While the secret movie will mostly likely not be about X(chi), Famitsu has reported that several of the added scenes in the Re:Coded cutscene archive may have some content related to X. So while I doubt that the final cutscene will be some kind of massive recap of the events of X, there does seem to be some suggestion that X might be covered or at least referred to/hinted at in some scenes. I doubt this is to tease some port of the game, but if anything it seems to be some kind of attempt to bring the plot of X over to other countries (being as crucial as it apparently is).

 

As for the vague possibility of the secret ending having to do with Birth by Sleep Vol. 2....well, maybe it is. I'm not sure. My friend was the one who first told me about it, having found a video or at least a report of a Japanese gamer who managed to get the game early due to the surprisingly common occurrence of particular stores getting and selling the games too early. Anyway, according to my friend, the secret ending was supposed to have covered more stuff about Birth by Sleep Vol. 2, or at least something along the lines of Mickey in the Realm of Darkness. I tried to find such reports of that but found nothing, and when my friend tried to find the site again he couldn't, apparently Japanese websites are difficult to find twice I suppose. Anyway, he's not the sort of friend to mess with me, so I know he must have found something. So far though, I haven't been able to find any other leads, so now it's sort of a dead end.

 

And then Famitsu dropped a massive bomb by saying that the secret ending teased a few weeks ago may hint towards Kingdom Hearts III. First of all, I hate it when somebody gives away something like that. It's one thing when a fan claims to have found a leak, but it's another when a magazine or something hints at something, because then there's a better chance of that being true, and I'd have rather have had that be a massive shock for me. Well anyway, they hinted at that, and now I'm left a little confused. One source claims that it's BbS Vol. 2 while another more official source hints that it may have something to do with III. It could be one or the other, but could it really be both? I mean, it's certainly possible, considering how we have no idea what the nature of BbS Vol. 2 is supposed be in regards to III, other than it might fill in some of those "blank points" (see what I did there?  ) that haven't added up yet. So if both could be intertwined into each other, then they probably could share the same scene. But the real confusing thing is if they still plan on doing anything with BbS Vol. 2. They have been super quiet about that game (if it even is a game) since BbS Final Mix and there has been nothing to suggest that they are working on it or are still planning on working on it so far, nor has there been anything to suggest that they have abandoned the idea altogether.

 

I'd still like to see it as much as I want to see Dream Drop Distance get an HD treatment of some sort, but the uncertainty can be both a blessing and a curse. I love not knowing exactly what to expect so I can be pleasantly surprised later on, but I also hate the sheer fact of not knowing anything. The way I see it there is certainly plenty of room to make something of Dream Drop Distance for one year, but would the same apply to Birth by Sleep Vol. 2 if it were confirmed to be happening or at least tangible? Well, if they stick to the one KH game a year model, I suppose it could work, but there has to be confirmation first. Also, while work on one project like 3D could go by without hindering III's development, I have no idea if BbS Vol. 2 (if real) could go by without causing any major delays either. If it is a game, how big would it have to be? There's just too much unknown in all of this to make a good assessment.

 

Either way, everything will become more clear after II.5 is released this year, the Ultimania is translated, and the Jump Festa event is over. December will be where we get all of our answers. Well, most of them anyway.
