Since he's my favourite character I want to know about his backstory but it has not been revealed where he originally came from. All that is known about his past is that he was the apprantice of Master Xehanort. Maybe Ventus originally had a family but was taken away from his home by Xehanort because of the master saw him as the only way to create what he wanted the X blade. Or Ventus was an orphan but why would Master Xehanort ever take him under his wing and treating him like his son when all the time he was manipulating Ventus. This is a question I hope that will have an answer in a KH title or explained in KH3 and what if Young Xehanort had an experience with a prophecy or something about Ventus a long time ago. The question is where did Ventus come from 

What more backstory is really needed? He was a kid who got picked up by Xehanort to be experimented on. And I wouldn't say he was treated like a son. For all we know, Xehanort only trained him for a little bit before finally splitting his atoms and birthing Vanitas. The point is, it's not really necessary, much like what Sora's home life was like before KHI. (Although, it's a proven fact that Sora has parents that live with him, so it's always going to be something of a bother that we never see them and that Sora never returns to them.)

I'm in favor of him originating from Twilight Town.

Well, when two people really really love each other they do stuff and then a baby pops out! But what happened after that is anyone's guess. Unless it's crucial to the plot, it's a question more suitable for fanfiction to answer than canon. Incidentally, in that circle Terra is usually presented as the orphan taken in by Eraqus, and Aqua is typically thought to come from a wealthy family. As for Ventus, who knows?

He is probably Sora's long-lost uncle or brother. From Destiny Islands of course.

Not to sound rash, but you really could go on forever with this. Where did Terra come from? Aqua?? Who are Riku's parents?? Why does he look like a Nort? Does Master X owe child support?? Does Lea have parents? Does Isa?? Who left that poor baby Ienzo alone?? Where is the "father" that Riku claims Sora has?? It'll never end....

It's never expressly stated where Ventus came from, only that he was "all alone" according to Master Xehanort. He must have been an orphan, runaway, lost or something, because for that moment, Xehanort did feel an ounce of pity and took him under his wing (yes, this is actually confirmed). It was only after a while that Xehanort began to factor Ventus into his plan (so much for the redeemable father figure...). Originally he intended on Ven becoming his new vessel but later deemed the boy to be too weak for that process. So instead he decided to use him as his means to forge the X-Blade. He didn't pick the kid up just to experiment with him from the get-go, he actually did display a human emotion for a moment. Unfortunately, that was the last truly good deed he would ever even consider, as in time his desire ultimately did prove more valuable to him than the safety of his own apprentice. Even Vanitas was used and manipulated by the old man, turning a sad, pained, and confused boy into a bitter and venomous monster. By time Birth by Sleep came around, he basically lost most of his humanity and became much more...well, Xehanorty.

Well, that's the trend I see semi-frequently when I read those "before game canon" fics. I can sorta see where they get the idea from. Aqua's elegant, dignified, and pretty, so I guess it's easy to picture a background in affluence.
