Posted October 30, 201410 yr I've always wondered why they released Kingdom Hearts 2 before Days? We started KH2 with a big ''What?!'' ''Who is that Guy?!'' Wouldn't be more logic to release Days before KH2 ?
October 30, 201410 yr Popular Post Because Kingdom Hearts 2 was written and developed prior to 358/2 Days. Also, it works better for the mystery of the story that we don't know who Roxas is at first, or what his connection is with Sora. Piecing that together is half of the experience of the game.
October 30, 201410 yr Because Days wasn't conceived yet, and because it has spoilers for KH2, Chain of Memories, and foreshadowing for Birth by Sleep. It spoils who appears (and dies) in Castle Oblivion, what Namine is doing, that Riku turns into an Ansem form, Organization XIII itself, and yes -- that Roxas is Sora's Nobody.
October 30, 201410 yr I always wondered this myself. It would've made a lot more sense had they released Days before KH2. I was frantically searching the web because I thought I missed a huge piece to the story.
October 30, 201410 yr Kingdom Hearts Days wasn't thought up until they were almost done with KH2. It wasn't released first because it wasn't thought of yet. Not everything has to be thought up in a chronological order. The way they wrote KH2 worked well enough so that you could play Days after playing KH2. If anything, it makes more sense, because then you'd understand all of the foreshadowing.
October 30, 201410 yr It's not like Days actually ADDS anything to the mythos of KH2. Everything explained in Days that has to do with KH2 is explained in KH2
October 31, 201410 yr I've always wondered why they released Kingdom Hearts 2 before Days? We started KH2 with a big ''What?!'' ''Who is that Guy?!'' Wouldn't be more logic to release Days before KH2 ? Because Days was never thought of until after Nomura finished KH2. He realized how inconceivable and confusing his plot was so he made an entirely new game to explain the little details he could have just added to KH2. Back then Kingdom Hearts wasn't big on filler games either.
December 17, 201410 yr Because 358/2 Days started developing after KHII. Besides, it fits more that way because at the time you finish KHII, you would have a background about Roxas and then you would get to know more about his story by a prequel. In addition, since Days focuses on it's own story more than trying to connect it to other titles a lot like other titles, it fits more to play 358/2 Days after KHII. But hey, it doesn't matter which releases first as long as 358/2 Days is still a prequel to KHII.
