who do you think should have drawn the kh manga?

Posted

in truth shiro amano's manga was waaayyyy to childish it almost didn't seem like kingdom hearts roxas was also notibly OOC sora was unusually much more cheerful then usual and was rarely ever serious some of the organization were drawn crapily especially xemnas the fights were quick and fast paced his art wasn't bad it just wasn't fit for k so who do you guys think should have handled the kh manga? i wanted tetsuya nomura to drawn them but that possibility is non existent :(

Um...Shiro Amano did everything right. Disney and Square Enix literally pulled him aside and asked him to do it. They trained him in the respective Disney art style and set him out to form the manga adaptation.

I actually think that the KH manga's are quite entertaining. They follow the games but also add more humor and extra stuff to it. And I don't think the battles are fast paced at all, they can't just have, for example, 50 pages that is all about ONE battle, that would be quite boring to read if you ask me. And it wasn't childish AT ALL, you can't expect it to have a lot of blood and violence in something with Disney characters in it, I mean come on :/

I think it should have been drawn by Amano Shiro.

I enjoy many parts in the manga much more than in the games, actually.

Well, they did it wrong.

Kingdom Hearts looking childish?! What next, DISNEY CHARACTERS!?

There's a limit.

Ummm...yeah, NO. Shiro Amano has done an amazing job for the manga series. True, the manga isn't the same experience as the game, but that's the point. It's supposed to be an abridged version of the storyline, while most of those little manga style quirks are present in almost every other writer and artist's series. Shiro Amano has done a great thing by making this series available on the go (before the era of PSPs and DSs made that possible). I'm sorry if you don't like his style for whatever reason.

Also, might I suggest that you separate your sentences from each other with periods? Because it makes what you're saying much more interesting to read when I can pick one thought out from the other. Just a suggestion.

Sensei, say it isn't so! T.T"

Oh well, different tastes and all that I suppose. I personally find everything about the manga series is just fine, from the way some characters are portrayed right down to the art styles. Because really man, that comparison of art styles just comes down to your personal art preference, and I don't blame you for it. I do prefer Nomura's art style much more. But to me, Amano does a decent job keeping up, the character designs are still plenty appealing to me. Plus, when you have to draw several images of the same character over and over again, you can't always maintain Nomura-esque quality. Sometimes you just gotta save that for the bigger pieces.

Anyway, your tastes, your opinions, whatever. No big deal I guess. :P

Yeaaah...

You know, I could enjoy this manga if we had a more serious adaptation to alternate from. :/

Ooooookaayyyy....

I still like it though. But...whatever... :P

I liked it as is: it captured the goofy aspect KH has on occasion, and the disney characters, most of all Alice and Ariel, were well done.

I think it's fine as it is.

Indeed.

I'd say Tetsuya Nomura but hes way to busy to work on a project like that.

so what about katsura hoshino, author of D.gray man, shes also an game guru so im sure shed be thrilled to work on it.

If it's based on just the art, I think Shiro Amano did a good job. Yeah, it looks different from the original art, but I like that he uses his own artistic style.

Now, if you want Firaga's serious manga adaptation, then ideally the best person to do it would be Nomura. If you want someone who's already a manga artist, then...  don't know xP

Good ol' Masashi Kishimoto. Nah, he's too busy with the mini-part 3 for Naruto and probably already has something else going for him.

Personally, there isn't anyone better than Shiro Amano. He did an amazing job and I quite honestly prefer the style chosen for the manga.

Just to clarify: I'm not saying Amano is a shit artist or anything, but his style could have been better.

But when the people who worked on this series teach you how to draw these things, it is. He was taught the style chosen for the KH manga by Disney and Square Enix. You got beef? Take it up with the people behind Square Enix and Disney.

I'll even go as far as to say the art style is better than that of the games.

Well then it's their fault, not Amano's.

Also, take that shit back, you know it's not true.

I'm still waiting for the super-secret Salvador Dahli Kingdom Heart comics that he drew before he died.

I really love the manga art style. I can't even begin to see where it's bad. If they ever made an animated series, this would be my preferred style for it.

It's seriously not that bad.

It's seriously not that bad.

I know but... *sigh*...

SO, I was reading the KH2 manga, and I was reminded of this thread. I think one also has to look at how Amano-san's style has developed over time. Yeah, his style may have looked childish at first, but if you compare KH1 to KH2 (and Days), you can see the differences.

Either that or it's just because they're all older /shot
