I'd assume it stems from a fear of their characters sounding too similar though. I'm sure if a VA auditioned and they had a significantly different voice as well as being the best fit they'd spring for it

would it though? I looked up Sasuke's voice, and it sounds pretty different from Cecil's, I don't think there'd be an issue

Nah, I think Square Enix has some sort of rule where a main character can't voice another one in the FF main entries. Like the voice actor of Princess Ashe couldn't voice Lightning even if she put in a great audition.

 

What about Liam O'Brian? He does the voice of Caius Ballad from FFXIII-2 and Kain from FFIV.    I'd say they're both main characters

Oh my god, that looks great! I really like how the game looks! The ice place and the cities were great tho. Ignis's voice is even more weird now.

Continues to look fantastic. New Shimomura track is god-tier.

I admit that was an awesome trailer but.....am I the only one who noticed the issue with the sound mixing?I can barely hear any of the characters talking cuz the music is waaay louder than the dialogue

I was hoping for a release window.....didn't even get a 'Coming Soon' 

 

Overall the trailer looked pretty epic though

this happens a lot with Square, they simply have someone adding in the raw voice files and overlaying music, rather than the proper mixing of the real game. See also: Dream Drop Distance trailers

Noctis sounds a lot better. He's a cutie when he's cranky

This game just got more badass. Can't wait to play it in the future.
