I believe there needs more death in kh3 and series in a whole (spoilers)

Posted

Honestly i can't take xehanort's threats or actions that threatening as in the whole series he has only killed one person and ruined aqua's,ven's and terra's life but other than that no one has died, to top that the organization have returned but i'll let that go as it is explained.

but i don't like how some of the fanbase wants roxas to come back and xion when i don't see it happening maybe roxas but that because he is a nobody who developed a heart, but xion is a puppet who is not a human being, and don't bring up Pinocchio as his father wished for him to be alive.

i just feel there should be some death in the series as almost everyone is coming back and even vanitas, which yeah he could be lingering but he can't manifest a new body unless he stole ven's body or has a new vessel to posses, as for kh3 they need death to give sora a reason to kill xehanort other than he's the bad guy as other's have more reason to fight him axel, terra, riku, and even roxas against his xemnas. but to do this they shouldn't kill kairi, because that's too obvious.

anyway sorry about my rambling but i felt like talking about this for awhile, what are your thoughts on this?

1. The plot in BBS was affected and directly written to explain stuff like why Roxas looks like he did and who Xehanort was so it makes sense why Ven had to survive. He didn't die because Sora's heart saved him which also lead to other plot devices that we know of.2.One of the major themes in this series is anything can grow a heart within proper nurturing circumstances ( even data). This includes puppets.3.Roxas was always a special nobody since he carried a heart that wasn't his ( Ven's ) all along . Heck Namine is a freaking nobody and she doesn't even have a physical body. That breaks the rules of what a nobody is completely. This whole series is written on exception after exception and retcon after retcon .4.That being said, there is a lot to be desired in terms of plot and writing in this series.

But doesn't it seem strange that Square have created their whole own universe, in which they have created laws and rules so everything makes sense and then they go directly against them? Why not just make the rules different so this inconsistencies don't need to appear? If Ventus can still magically float around back into Sora, how come that doesn't happen with Vanitas, or any other non-heartless character that has died over the series? If anything can grow a heart in the right circumstances, then what is even the need for Kingdom Hearts? Couldn't the *decieved* Organization members just act all jolly and hope that one day they can put their hand on their chest and go "Op! There it is!"

All this talk of death in the Kingdom Hearts series is very interesting, but if a character were to be killed off in Kingdom Hearts III, Square would have to work around this death in order to make it shocking and not like it was forced in for the sake of drama.  And even though death is bad, everything Xehanort has done to everyone in the series has been far worse!  Look at Xion!  The poor girl practically died, and to top it all off, she was wiped out of Roxas and Lea's memories completely!  There's a saying that goes like this: "Being forgotten is a fate worse than death."  And well, there's been enough tragedy in the Kingdom Hearts series, so I'm sure that all these characters will finally find a silver lining in their never ending personal hell.  All these characters have suffered because of one old man's ambitions, and well, that's enough to make a person connect emotionally to the characters affected.  Although I keep having this idea in my head that Terra will end up dying in an attempt to give Sora and the gang a fighting chance to defeat Xehanort for good, but that's just me.  But anyways, all these characters have gone through enough.  Let's hope they get a happy ending.  And like many people have stated here, Xehanort and his entire Organization will be snuffed out for good, so that's thirteen deaths.  More than enough. :3

Death? These threads are absurd.

I agree wholeheartedly. Just bring my beloved Eraus back to life, and you can all kill whoever you want.

Please....PLEASE! Just bring back Eraqus!!!! DX

wouldn't they have to kill his heartless and nobody to bring him back? that is if they can find them both

Assuming he even has those. I thought that only happened if your Heart was taken from/seperated from your body prematurely? Eraqus just flat out died. (Rather traumatically, too. *Shudders* )

i confused about it as he was stuck with a keyblade and this was never explained that much when i played bbs but i'm guessing it did as most disappear in that fashion of light heading towards the sky but i'm not sure on it as it didn't show his heart heading towards the sky

Well honestly... I do think (unlike everyone else) That killing a main character could make you hate the villain more, which is what the developers should want. I don't see Xehanort as a threat, nor has he actually made me really hate him yet... If he killed a beloved character, it would make the player want him dead more... And it would also just be awesome to see Sora flip out, and go crazy.

The games have a bit too light of a tone I agree, almost all villains are just bark and no bite, Birth by sleep was the first mildly dark kingdom hearts I noticed.

I was genuinely happy and interested in the series then, until dream drop distance rolled out with Sora and his sillyness and total dumb behavior and RIku, Riku was the only good campaign in that game to me, it was HIS game not sora's in my opinion.

I agree with the OP the series need to get a bit more dark, specially if we're going to the final game of this saga and the final confrontation and all that jazz.

the First thing I want though...is for Sora to be less dumb, seriously I get embarrassed just by looking at him

Xehanort should be like marluxia SORA despised him and if you look at Sora's expression when Marluxia dies, its pure hatred in his eyes. Seriously I hated COM's gameplay but I played just for that cutscene >.>

Xehanort needs to be a THREAT and he needs to be hated by both the player and Sora, as Marluxia was...

There's already a fair amount of death in the Seeker of Darkness saga, as evidenced by this no doubt incomplete unofficial possibly incorrect list of casualties, so the problem isn't the lack of deathWhat you're simply seeking is for there to be less revivals of the dead, as nearly everyone on this list has refused to stay dead and in some cases have been revived only to die again, no doubt to be revived in the future of this series- Cinderella's Stepmother- Anastasia- Drizella- Eraqus- Terranort- Braig- Dilan- Even- Aeleus- Ienzo- Isa- Lea- Demyx's Somebody- Luxord's Somebody- Larxene's Somebody- Marluxia's Somebody- Clayton- Oogie Boogie- Maleficent- Vexen- Larxene- Lexaeus- Marluxia- Zexion- Xion- Barbossa- Oogie Boogie (again)- Mufasa- Scar('s Heartless)- Demyx- Goofy- Xaldin- Axel- Xigbar- Luxord- Saïx- Xemnas- BILLIONS of Heartless- BILLIONS  of Nobodies- BILLIONS of Unversed- BILLIONS of NightmaresThat should be enough death to satisfy anyone

Marluxia was one of the reasons i have this mindset as that villain did everything right to get in the protagonist's way, but what do you mean by wanting sora to be less dumb? do you mean overall? or did you see his optimistic and idiotic performance in ddd and see him as dumb because of that?

Naw not his optimistic side, I like that side of him, specially because you can see the shred of sadness in him if you pay attention, im talking about overall, sometimes sora is so...dumb...seriously, im all for optimism but god dammit were some scenes in DDD cringe worthy from his sillyness.
