I asked Takashi Tokita, the head of division 9 if there any plans to update Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II. Unfortunately, there are not. As a result, Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II remain two of the only entries in the main series not playable in HD alongside IX, XII, Crisis Core, Dirge of Cerberus and Revenant Wings.
