Nintendo Says E3 Will Be Focused On 2015 Games

Posted

We all heard the news yesterday that Zelda has been delayed and won’t be shown at this year’s E3 event in June. A Nintendo of America spokesperson has clarified to IGN that the company is only focussing on showing 2015 titles at E3 this year. We still don’t know if it’s going to be an E3 themed Nintendo Direct or alternatively a traditional stage conference. Anyway, here’s what the representative told the publication.

“As Mr. Aonuma announced, The Legend of Zelda game for Wii U is no longer targeted as a 2015 release. Rather than sticking to a specific schedule, the team wants to make this the most complete and the best game it can possibly be. The new launch timing has not yet been determined. Because we’d like to focus on developing the game, we aren’t planning on showing it at this year’s E3, where we will be highlighting games launching in 2015. We will let you know when we’re ready to share more specifics.”

I'm hoping to see a Metroid game at this year's E3. I also PM'ed you, Tails.

I'm hoping it'll be a Direct again, that was way better than the typical stage event.

Also, I get a feeling Xenoblade X will be the Wii U game that NoA and NoE focus on for the holiday season this year. Kinda surprising, considering that it fits a niche audience. I wouldn't mind seeing Nintendo go all out with advertising it, though.

Yeah, that will most likely be a big priority for NoA and NoE since it's been getting a lot if advertisement out if everything Nintendo has announced for this year. But I do hope they announce the new Star Fox title at this year's E3.

Really hope that they announce a new Metroid game for either 3DS or Wii U!

if it's focusing on 2015 I guess we're not getting a whole lot to sink our teeth into this year :/

Well that's too bad, I really wanted to learn more about Zelda U.

Wow, just heard Zelda U's getting delayed, oh well.

Sweet, Xenoblade X at E3 getting attention. Finally some underrated series getting the attention it deserves.

And Yoshi'e Wolly World :P

Well my hopes for this year are: Yoshi's Woolly World, Star Fox Wii U, Mario Maker, some type of surprise game that I will totally be on board for (last year that was Captain Toad Treasure Tracker), Pokemon Z / Delta Emerald (whichever one might come out first, I know that they have to be planning a new Pokemon game!), some possible remakes / remasters of games, and some more Amiibo support use for games.

I wonder if any new pokemon games will be coming out this year or if they are taking a year off. I also hope for a Bravely Second release date too!

Game Freak said they'll be showing a new game soon, although we don't know if they were talking about Tembo or a new Pokemon game. I'm hoping for the latter, personally. I'll be disappointed if there's not a new Pokemon game this year.

Hmm, this is very interesting.  Now we just have to wait and see what cards Nintendo will bring to the table, come E3 in just a few months! :)

Square Enix will announce that when they're ready.

I would love a Kalos/Hoenn game that would be amazing! One can hope right? Oh god I do hope for another pokemon game with two regions kind of like gold and silver.

Well I just hope they say something at E3 heck even if they just confirm that it will be coming overseas will put me at ease.

Smaller titles usually take awhile longer.

I'm worried this year's E3 will be boring with Zelda not being shown and only 2015 games will be shown. I hope its not just the games we already know.

I'm sure all three companies will have amazing presentations. So I wouldn't worry to much, I mean who knows what will be shown this year.
