Nobody seems to be paying it any attention, but I think Sora's Darkness will be a major plot point in KH3.

 

In KH1, Sora was able to retain his consciousnesses as a heartless (even if he was weak), which was something only Xehanort was noted to be able to do.

 

In KH2, it manifests as Anti-Form, and in (re:)coded (which no-one really pays attention to), it appears as the main antagonist of the Journal datascape.

 

I don't really think it shows up in KHDDD, but it's possible that it was what corrupted Ven's Armour. I personally think that that was just Xehanort injected Sora with a lot of Darkness though.

 

So, what I'm saying is, I think that Sora's Darkness could be a major point in Sora's character development (e.g. overcoming the darkness, or accepting it), and it could become a major antagonist in future KH games belong KH3 (if Nomura does decide to continue after the Xehanort Saga).  

But... Sora's character has already developed so much...

I fully second this. Then years later, in the next saga, you'll find Donald guarding his keyblade, and fighting with it in his mouth.

Xehanort doesn't inject anyone with darkness, he simply nutures the darkness they already have inside them, allowing it to eventually swallow their heart. It could also be said the Anti Black Coat is another representation of Sora's darkness, since Nightmares are the darkness of the Sleeping Worlds.

I'm expecting the darkness within Sora to be a topic that'll come up quite a bit in KH3. I just can't see Sora coming out of his condition at the end of 3D completely fine. Especially considering how Riku entertained controlling the darkness once and it sent him to possession-ville. Mickey said that his heart was in the "darkest abyss", there's no way Sora couldn't be completely unaffected. Maybe the time he was asleep in the darkness may have increased the darkness within him and will give him more prominent dark powers that he'll have to control. Or, and here's something I'm really hoping for, Sora will become afraid of darkness, I'm hoping for some psychological repercussions. Especially when The Anti-Black Coat is described as a personification of Sora's nightmares, it gave me the sense that, deep down, Sora is scared of Xehanort and the Organization. Fear is an emotion that has been touched upon so little in the KH games.

... Uh, for those of you who don't know, I'm making a joke about tropes, you see, its a play on with the trope called "Angst? What Angst?" in which it describes a character(s) with a(n) daunting task/burden or a series of hardships and yet they just don't seem to be affected by it...

 

The joke is that Sora doesn't have any "darkness". And by that, I mean "a reason to have or deal with darkness"... because he's a happy go-lucky simpleton.

Sora has his own kinda darkness.  But I have a hard time imagining anything happening in kh3 with it because this is Sora.  But it's very likely Nomura might try something.  I don't think he'll be completely unscathed after DDD either.

All Xehanort did was basically throw Sora into a identity crisis and generally just mess with his head.  He pulls him deeper into sleep near the end of DDD where he comes across Namine, Xion, and Roxas.  He feels Roxas's pain and is thrown into turmoil.  Later he briefly turns into Ven, adding to his confusion.  All Xehanort did was put him to sleep.  The pain and confusion inside him did the rest.  He chased them deeper and deeper in.  Stuff Data Roxas said is becoming very relevant to the real Sora now: "The hurt owns you now, Sora. It's a wound that will never mend. A hole in your heart will grow bigger and bigger, until darkness finally claims it."  Sora's darkness is his own, Xehanort just drew it out.

Maybe he doubts him self deep down... I mean he left in ddd to go train because he finally realized how dumb and worthless he is lol im jk, but I do think Xehanort might have planted some seeds of doubt in him.

That's possible. Still, he's not very good at showing it.

There will most likely be some form in the game to go with Sora's darkness. Hes gonna need both light and dark to defeat MX

It could have a part in KH3. We did see light fall (or almost) to darkness in KH3D so who knows? I like the theory though.
