May 18, 201511 yr This reminds me of that TedTalk that Sir Ken Robinson gave. He says that essentially schools are killing creativity, and that they're pretty much brainwashing students into believing that they have to become a doctor, a lawyer, a dentist, etc. Why not let them release their creativity? Of course, in an appropriate manner. ^_^ Peace!

Yeah, what you said is true Also Parent has a role in it too where you have some parents who want their kids to 100% academic whizz-kids but along the way they miss out on developing vital social skills and creativity skills. I think the idea Society has imposed on us is good education = good career built on good grades. But for careers in the fine arts or performing arts, that are a little different. With that said, such careers won't be easy and one needs to go through a lot of hard work to finally end up where they end up but the key to success here definitely is perseverance and hard work.

First of all thank you for your kind compliment I highly doubt that I will end up a musician since I'm already halfway down a career pathway that's something completely different to music. I guess the aim of this post is really just to tell people to stick to their guns! (and their dreams and don't let failure discourage you - because failure is a stepping stone to success!) If people are really serious about a certain career - they will pursue it aggressively through thick and thin and chase it to the ends of the world. and if people give up on it it just means they weren't prepared to make sacrifices and committments (like in my case here, Don't get me wrong I love making music and its really fun to do because I get to bring smiles to strangers and friends alike with my amateur skill - but I can't think of it as a career for myself) In your case, how is your Violin playing SorRik? I'm sure you've been working hard on it, and that if you put the dedication and hours in - it'll all pay off and we'll have ourselves a Violin virtuoso on KH13

Thanks I really want to learn how to play the violin. I will really work hard on it. I don't want to be a famous musician but I would like to be a traveling violinist. And play music to see if anyone is having a hard time or a bad day, cheer them up with music.
May 19, 201511 yr These are very inspiring words, to be sure! And it's true, the only person that can stop you from achieving your dreams is yourself! I plan on becoming a great comic book/mangaka artist someday, and it's something I know I could be great at! I just have to start studying on said fields of art, and in a few short years, I could be making my own manga! Ah yes, that'd be grand! I'd also love to be a voice actor for anime, video games and cartoons! I've always loved doing voice impressions, so voice acting is something that would also be perfect for me! I also love to write, so being a writer is also up my alley! Good God, I have so many options! I don't know where to start!

May 30, 201511 yr Most excellent advice. I once aspired to be a graphic artist, but due to a lack of commitment, I too resorted to keep art as a hobby. However difficult life may seem, I know that true satisfaction comes from being happy with yourself, no matter WHAT you end up doing in life. Thanks a lot, cat! Great words.
