Remember King Mickey's letter from the end of KH2? I wonder if Kairi didn't give Sora and Riku the kings' letter right away. Like...she kept it for a few days and even considered destroying it, because she didn't want her friends to leave her again. The guilt really ate away at her, and she eventually decided to give them the letter, because they would have found out eventually, and they would have left for another journey, angry at her. I'm wondering if that's the case, after she heard about what almost happened to Sora at the end of DDD if she felt even worse, because if she had given the letter to Sora and Riku right when she got it, then they never would have been in danger.  And if Sora and Riku find out about it in KH3, would they be mad at her?

I don't really think it's in Kairi's nature to do that. I mean she's Kairi and I'm pretty sure if they receive an urgent letter from the king and she happens to be the first one to get her hands on it she'll immediately show it to Sora and Riku. Kairi understands the urgency.

I imagine she would've taken it straight to them.  She not the type of person to hide stuff from people, let alone her two closest friends.  I doubt she even looked at the letter before taking it to them.  She understands how urgent it must be and how important it is for them to go.

well it's not exactly fitting for a heart of supposed pure light to be jealous and petty like that

Sounds a bit like fanfiction, yes, but also logical: you just get your (sorta kinda not really) boyfriend and best friend back, after forgetting them, and a big epic fight, and then you lose them again due to a letter. The logical step would be dropping the damn thing in a fireplace, and lying through your teeth, and it doesn't matter if she's a princess (of heart). Princesses are shown to be liars (Aurora lying to the three faeries, Cinderella lying about who she was) and hiding things from others, (Aurora again, hiding about meeting Philip in the glen, Snow White hiding her meeting with the prince) so it's possible even a pure heart full of light can be self centered.

Longer than I'd meant rant short, yes, it's possible she could have, but...it's Kairi: she's as devious as a butterfly. She gave it to them at once.

If so,then she would've felt said guilt when she read the letter with them later anyway, and what? Why would they be angry at her for literally no existing reason?I'm sorry but this sounds more like a fanfic and less like a theory

Yeah, the scene and Kairi's overall demeanor was more one of curiosity than guilt or jealousy. If she had kept it, I think she would have immediately told them and apologized. But when Sora opens the letter, she's reading it along with them as if she hadn't opened it before, so this is more than likely the case.

Not to mention, but when Sora later tells Kairi that he has to leave to take the Mark of Mastery, she responds with a smile and handing him her good-luck charm because she knows he'll return. (And then later she ends up training so that they can fight alongside each other in KHIII probably, hopefully)

(Aurora lying to the three faeries... Aurora again, hiding about meeting Philip in the glen,

Aurora didn't lie to the faeries, though. She was incredibly honest, which is what set their spidey senses off. And Cinderella didn't lie about who she was: she goes to the ball as herself, but just wearing something other than her usual ragged attire.

On topic, while I understand where you're coming from, the last thing the plot needs in KH3 is more drama caused by miscommunication and withholding information.

She lied full on about where she was going the first time.

And good point, Cinderella was a bad example. >_>
