Hey guys. Recently I watched all of the Fairy Tail episodes and now have to wait like 7 days for every new episode. I was looking into watching some other anime shows out there but haven't found anything. I finished SAO (both seasons, waiting for the third) and need something fun and new to watch. I try watching Attack on Titan but it doesn't appeal to me. Soul Eater is good but not many places I can watch it at. So if you have any good anime shows I can watch, I'd appreciate any suggestions!

No, all anime is terrible.

(Okay fine, watch FLCL is you haven't yet, it's a great example of style over substance done right. Also if you're in the mood for comedy, Cromartie High School is firetrucking rad, and has maybe the best English dub ever done. Sorry, I'm not very original.)

They Fate series is good if you haven't tried/heard of it

  • Fate/Stay Night (2006 version)
  • Fate/ZERO (prequel to Fate/Stay Night, Kinda like how BBS is prequel to KH1)
  • Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade works (2014-2015, this is an alternate retelling of the 2006 ver with different ending)
  • Owari no Seraph (The End of Seraph)
  • Kuroko's Basketball (If you are into sports)
  • Assassination Classroom (More comedy than anything)

It really depends what genre you are after, but there are WAY HEAPS more out there

I don't watch as much Anime as I used to, so I'm sure some KH13 members here will recommend some really good series to you

Have you see Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic or Code Geass: Leoluch of the Rebellion? If not, they are both good and they both have 2nd seasons as well, waiting for season 3 of Magi though. And if you can't wait for the new eps for Fairy Tail you could always read the manga :P.

Oh! Oh! Have you watched Full metal Alchemist? That one's great! There are actually two versions of the anime. One that branches off from a certain point in the manga, and the other goes by the manga entirely. The one that you should watch FIRST is Fullmetal Alchemist, not FMA: Brotherhood. Two totally different storylines. I think you might like it.

I mean, I loved it, and I'm only 15.

REMEMBER! Watch the regular version FIRST, Then you watch Brotherhood! It makes more sense that way. Trust me.

I have nothing much to offer, but here are the few I know of:

Vampire Knight

Death Note

Blood Lad

Vampire Knight is more romancey, so Death Note might be the best bet.

Death Note is definitely very awesome and one of the few times I think the anime is as good as the manga (maybe even better- the ending was a lot cooler in the anime).

The movies were good as well.

I prefer them over the anime, but that's my own personal prefernce.

Never saw 'em, but I should; Death Note is firetrucking cool.

There's two, and a 3rd that's an AU that doesnt' follow canon about L.

The CGI is wonky at times, but the films were great, in my opinion.

I recommend One Piece, Yuigoh season 0(Season 0 is about Yami killing bad guys who gets in his way.), the original Naruto, and of course Kokkri-san.

I however, do not recommend Kill la Kill. It's so terrible that the fanbase easily get butthurt when people dislike. Plus, the story is terrible.

Natsume Yuujinchou - so beautiful that it still hurts a little

Steins;Gate - the dangers of turning your microwave into a time machine

Trigun - I'm a sucker for space and westerns, so mixing them = awesome

Yeah, pretty much just depends on what you like. There's lots of reeeally weird stuff out there.

(And don't try tell me that Pokemon isn't an anime, because it comes from Japan, has the elements of an anime, and it can't truly be called a cartoon either!)

The real question is what anime genre do you like? Do you like anime with action, adventure, ecchi, romance, harem, fantasy, romantic comedy, slice of life, magical girl, or comedy?

People already listed the Fate/Stay Night library and I saw Code Geass.

Before I go off to bed, here's a few meager titles. I'll warn you of any fanservice (This is me after all)

  • Strike Witches 1&2 (Action/Mild Ecchi, avoid middle episodes as they are solely fanservice). In the dub, Cherami Leigh voices Yoshika, the main character.
  • Cat Planet Cuties: ridiculous alien comedy action movie. It's kinda funny and stupid at times, but I got a few laughs out of it.
  • Girls Und Panzer: Schoolgirls blowing the crap out of each other in vintage tanks. Fanservice is extremely nonexistant.
  • Aria the Scarlet Ammo: Action/Supernatural series, slight fanservice,
  • A Certain Magical Index/A Certain Scientific Railgun: Great series, extremely fun to watch and just amazing all around. Railgun is a spinoff of Index but I found Railgun just so much better.
  • World Break: Aria of Curse of a Holy Swordsman: Magic action. Perfect for a Fairy Tail fan IMHO.

That's my long list of suggestions. I'd like to note most of those I have finished, and own on DVD/Blu-Ray. Two I havent finished but am enjoying them immensely.

It's always been anime, not cartoon xD

Naruto

- Death Note

- Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood

- Code Geass

- Darker Than Black

- Hellsing Ultimate

- Strike The Blood

- Nisekoi

- Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's

Free

- Gintama

- Dragon Ball Kai

- Tokyo Ghoul

Some anime that recently finished up I recommend are:

  • Hibike! Euphonium - High school concert band with some of the slickest animation I've ever seen and a nice dramatic story.
  • Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (Not the movie) - Great animation and nice fights. Challenges what it really means to become a hero.
  • Shirobako - About the animation industry in Japan. Gives you a silly behind the scenes look on what it takes to make an anime.

Mind stating some genres you are interested in?
