Now that the first anime episode of DragonBall Super has aired, I hearby open this official discussion thread. Here, we can talk about the anime, the manga, or any other related Super topics.

With that said, if none of you have read the first manga chapter, then feel free to take a look here.

Now then, for my thoughts on the first anime episode:

Echoing one of the tags for this thread:

THE KING HAS RETUUUUUUUURNNEEEEEEEDAAAAH.... ahem.

So yeah, I enjoyed this episode a lot. It wasn't anything too special, but boy did it just push the potential of this entire anime way up. Seeing things like Goten and Trunks's shenanigans (which combined with their goal to get Videl a present was just too darn cute), all the little one off jokes like the old man talking about the hot springs and Master Roshi coming out of nowhere in the end, Trunks beating the crap out of a giant snake, Mr. Buu and Mr. Satan, Goku training/working, Beerus half-destroying the pig-alien planet, just everything that happened was just... satisfying. There's nothing more I can say other than if things continue to go in this fastion, I am going to enjoy the flip out of every episode that comes out of Super. I guarantee it. :) #FarmerGoku #Beerus&Whis #Buu&Satan #TrunksvsSnake #GoodOlRoshi

  • So that new animation for the Goku/Beerus fight in episode 5...Yeah. I think i don't need to say anymore.

  • The animation is not as bad as a lot of people and non-fans have been touting it as, especially nowadays... well... most of the time... but seriously, if most of those screencaps you saw were mostly f

  • Any word on the dub? I'm tempted to start watching this but I just can't stand Goku's japanese voice actor lol.

Dragon Ball Super has been confirmed to be going on for as long as 72 episodes at the very least. It was said in a statement by Kanzenshuu, the following.

Listings for the fourth, fifth, and sixth DVD and Blu-ray box sets for the Dragon Ball Super TV series have begun to surface on retailer websites.

  • The fourth set, due 04 October 2016, will cover episodes 37-48.
  • The fifth set, due 06 January 2017, will cover episodes 49-60.
  • The sixth set, due 04 April 2017, will cover episodes 61-72.

Each two-disc set will also include a creditless version of the respective closing theme used during its batch of episodes. DVD boxes are priced at ¥12,096 while Blu-ray boxes are priced at ¥16,416.

Episode 44 of the series aired this past weekend on Fuji TV in Japan. Barring a listed-and-subsequently-removed “100” episode count on a European Toei website, these home video listings are the first confirmed sources to so significantly project ahead of the known material.

The “Future Trunks Arc” of Dragon Ball Super is set to begin 12 June 2016.

The third DVD and Blu-ray box for the series (covering episodes 25-36) was delayed to 02 July 2016from its original June release date.

So I've been binge watching Super upon finding out the first bit of news concerning the new arc and I have to say I really enjoy it.

Ugh.

This joke got old in less than a week.

Couldn't care less, it's still hilarious to me.

All DragonBall memes are either horrible or overplayed.

I'm so glad this series will continue until atleast 72 episodes. Hopefully it continues for more and more episodes. Also seriously though when will Funimation announce the dub? After 72 episodes? xD

Also seriously though when will Funimation announce the dub?

Actually, earlier this year, around early April-ish, Sean Schemmel did say in a QnA panel at a convention in Bristol, England, that Funimation should have the rights to the dub by the end of the year at the very least.

Also, with this confirmation of 72 episodes, it leaves us with 25 episodes at least after the "Potaufeu Arc" for the Future Trunks Arc and the all but confirmed Omniversal Tournament Arc.

Still catching up on it but the series started getting better for me after it got past the movie plots. My favorite episode so far is the one with Pan.

If it's entirely official then the most interesting part I think would be the

earrings. Perhaps Goku is fused with someone evil. That begs the question why Goku is still alive though..

I personally think those earrings are not of the Potara Kaioshins, but of the Makaioshins. Otherwise known as the demons or evil Supreme Kais. The reason being is because Demigra is a Makaioshin and he has the EXACT same earrings as this. Can't wait to get more news.

If it was a Makaioshin then maybe one escaped hell and found Goku in the after life fusing with him? The Kaio seem to be able to leave at will and demons like Dabura, and the Xenvoerse villains have shown they can get out of hell even if it's locked down for most beings.

They bring up an interesting question-

the Future Trunks we already know from the Cell Saga.

Sorry once again for the lateness, but the translation for the manga's twelfth chapter is now available to read online.

EDIT: (6/9/16)

The official Japanese YouTube channel for "DragonBall Heroes" has uploaded a trailer for the upcoming Future Trunks/Goku Black centered arc in the DragonBall Super anime. It features footage we have already seen in the anime as well as new footage that will presumably also be in the anime.

Nothing really new we can gather from this.

Other than the confirmation that Future Trunks and Black will be having some sort of fight in this episode. It also gives even more evidence to suggest that Future Bulma will die in this episode as well as Trunks is holding the blue liquid (which I theorise to be fuel for the time machine) while crying, maybe meaning that Bulma was able to give it to him before dying because we also get to see the Capsule Corp building starting to get destroyed which means that Black has not only destroyed whatever city Trunks is in in the previews, but has made it to West City as well. Also we see Goku and Vegeta reacting to something, they might be reacting to Future Trunks and Future Mai appearing? Although I doubt that because Trunks wouldn't know where Beerus' Planet is and they'd most likely appear on Earth, or maybe there's something up with Beerus or Whis that they're reacting to because in I believe episode 43 or 44, Goku says that "Whis has went somewhere" which was why he was training on Kaio's planet instead of Beerus'. But that is my quick analysis of the trailer because the majority of it is just scenes we saw in the previews.

This isn't news relating to Super, but if you're interested, Kazenshuu recently translated an interview with Takeshi Kusao, the voice actor for both Future Trunks and Trunks in the present, to commemorate his future character's key role in the upcoming anime arc.

Episode 47 spoilers, beware

WHAT THE ACTUAL firetruck WAS THAT EPISODE.

BOTH FUTURE BULMA AND FUTURE MAI KICKED THE BUCKET, I DON'T EVEN.
