Long ago, two dragons entered into conflict. Grima, the fell dragon, who desired destruction and ruin of humankind, and Naga, the divine dragon who helped the humans against the evil forces of the fell one. Grima was sealed by the Exalt, using Falchion, the legendary weapon, alongside the Fire emblem. With victory for humans and the divine dragon, the world flourished once again; however 1000 years later, Grima was resurrected, bringing chaos to the once peaceful lands.

 

Once again, humans took weapons against it, and with the help of allies from different timelines, the world was saved once again, this time, finishing Grima for good, the lands of Ylisse were once again at peace. But nothing protected these from the hate and darkness inside humans, that´s how the once known Halidom of Ylisse fell down, both Falchion and Fire emblem lost in history, and the Voice, suddenly became silent... until now.

 

 

The continents of Ylisse and Valm, coexisted in the 500 years after the so called War of the Fell Dragon; since then many nations emerged while others vanished into history, nowadays in Ylisse exist the Kingdom of Dormus, ruled by King Ephidel, a nation flourished with the touch of steam technology, Varius, the green valley, and their council in the city of Tellus and the legendary Regna Ferox, land of warriors ruled by the Khan Lord Ragnar.

In Valm continent the old guardians of Chon´sin guided by Yang Chen, the light theocracy of Nazzir, blessed with Primarch Valder´s guidance, and the Principality of Rossane, ruled by centuries by House Virion and his head, lord Firion. Recently the kingdom of Dormus, once a provider of peace, has become a menace, as suddenly started to attack the nations of Various and Regna Ferox, with unknown motives, the land once again struggles with war. In the near frontier with Regna Ferox, a group of mercenaries, hired by Dormus Royalty prepares for a battle, one that truly has a long story to be told. 

 

PROLOGUE: Dormus Test.

 

In a near campside a man, around his 40 years, awakes in the dawn, he needs to receive a few people coming from the city of Dormus, as mercenary, his duty is with his clients, in this case, however..

"Sigh.. I shouldn´t agree with this, but if the old man says this is needed..." Braid, the leader fo the mercenary group said, as he walked out of his tent, in the distance, four people came in the roadside, soon they reached the campside. With a grin smile, he reached the four people coming: " So you are lord Reiner and lady Arcelia, huh? Welcome to the Feroxi Frontier".

 

"So you should be Braid, I suppose there´s no need of introductions then" Reiner said as he went down of his horse walking next to the man. "So I suposse we need to take your test, as you sent in the letter" "Hell right, if you prove your worthy we will follow you to hell, after all your mission is not a field of roses, trying to sneak into Feroxi lands.. call it a suicide." Braid said with a suspicious look over the two royals. "Alright then we will start soon, prepare yourself, as I prepare my group for battle" Finished saying Braid walked inside the camp, reaching a group of people in the center, "Alright you have 2o minutes to prepare to battle, this will be an battle exercise so be ready to be mocked down by me! HAhaha"

Alright everyone! lest start with this! Introduce yourself to your members of the team, and prepare to battle, know yourself better and please Riki, we trust in you.. don´t kill us. Battle will start as soon as everyone talk to each other.

After the sparring match had concluded, Evelyn sat in the nearby Rest Area, on a chair, rubbing her head a little as she called out, bemused.

"You're talking like it's my Funeral, I only got K.O'd!" She said, chuckling a little afterwards. "I should probably watch myself next time, in a real combat situation, that's a fatal move." She noted, before groaning a little. "Ya kinda hit me a little harder than I thought..." She added, reclining, but remaining awake.

Lenord took a deep breath as he smiled as he closed his tome and walked with the others. Now, he had got his chance to shine with the others. He held his tome by his side, smiling. He looked around at everyone, feeling helpful. He was glad to have passed the test.

Alexander turned to Evelyn as she announced her presence, "My god, you're ALIVE!" he said jokingly as he chuckled, "nothing you could have done, don't take it too hard on yourself" he told her.

Evelyn rolled her eyes. "Ha ha, very funny, Alexander." She said with jest, lightly chuckling afterwards. "You all fought well regardless, as did I...yeah, you're right. Still don't feel good about it, however. Kind of a chilling thought not being able to stop your own demise like that." She stated, shivering a little.

"Gaah, we need a lighter point of discussion!" She exclaimed, laughing a little afterwards. "Can't be getting too sentimental already."

"True, lets not think about it too much", He told her, "I wouldn't say I did much, but a win is a win I guess" he said crossing his arms, before smiling, "Gotta say though, you got some pretty potent magic, knocked that soldier straight out" he complimented her, "Lets get back to camp, you coming Catrain" he turned to her as he asked..

"Yet still it was a good work. I can learn one thing or two about your fighting techniques" Wolt said as he joined the group. "And you are practically good with strategy, I´m sure you can be at the same level as the tacticians in Dormus." he said while making a happy grin. "Overconfidence is a sure Kill Wolt, yet still.. this time you´re right. I´m really hoping you´re up to the next task. hehehehe." Reiner said as he dismounted his horse.

Suddenly Arcelias arms were on Evelyn's head, and the princess was leaned against her gently, looking at Alexander and Evelyn alternatively.

"Sorry you got 'killed' Evelyn. Next time stick close - safest place is next to me~" She said, chuckling. "My brother's always closeby, and when she gets her but here, I have the prettiest rose-haired badass guard a girl could want." She reached down and tapped Evelyn's nose. "Also, blame carrot-top for bad positioning." She then looked over to Reiner. "Hey, Reiner? What's next on the agenda? Or am I actually free to mingle without slipping away and pissing you off?"

Maggie was quite pleased with the way things had worked out. True, she had signed up to help, but she meant every word she said before the spar. If the royals hadn't lived up to her standards and the mercenaries', she would have left. Maggie wasn't the sort to put her life on the line for someone she didn't even trust. Looking around, her eyes fell on Lenord. He had used dark magic during the spar. She had never met a Dark Mage before, and he looked like the only person her age there, this might be fun! Bouncing over, she did a slight bow in the mage's direction. "Hello! I don't think we have been properly introduced yet. My name is Maggie, and I am here as a thief! What about you?" She tilted her head to the side slightly.

"A sight for literally sore eyes you are, Arcelia." Evelyn commented as she appeared seemingly out of nowhere. "Yes, getting "killed" was no fun at all. Perhaps I should stick close next time around." She added, chuckling. She also couldn't help but gasp a little as she is complimented and her nose if tapped, but she chuckled anyway.

"I am honoured, Princess." She said to her.

Arcelia grins. "Good, I like honoring people!" She said. "And you're cute when surprised." she turned to Reiner, looking out. "...Armad..." She frowned. "Why did he not bring Khione? She is my personal bodyguard, it's ridiculous that she didn't make it here already. Reiner, did you do something?" She placed her hands on her hips and stared at her Great Knight brother.

Arcelia grins. "Good, I like honoring people!" She said. "And you're cute when surprised." she turned to Reiner, looking out. "...Armad..." She frowned. "Why did he not bring Khione? She is my personal bodyguard, it's ridiculous that she didn't make it here already. Reiner, did you do something?" She placed her hands on her hips and stared at her Great Knight brother.

"Mmm don´t look at me, I´m not in charge of Khione´s squad. I asked Armad to bring her as well to a few more soldiers... mmm is something happening on the capitol? Mmmm...." Reiner then started thinking, his face changing into a serious one. "Mmm I suposse lady Axcella is keeping things right in the city, don´t worry about that much Reiner." Wolt replied as he kept his crossbow back into his bag. "Mmm yes... after all she´s a Paladin, and one of the best, she can hold the fort... Something is amiss..."

"I was taught by the finest in Valm, I would hope my hat-tricks would be a little more than acceptable." Brooklyn coldly stated. With this, Brooklyn looked towards the group. "Even if it was just practice, I allowed one of you to fall. Forgive me for that failure, I will hope to avoid that from occurring once again." He spoke almost solemnly, as if it had been the death of one of their comrades in arms. He then faced Braid. "Aside from that, it was a good move on your part to attack Evelyn. She is a magical attacker like myself, and I can only assume she could have teamed with myself to route out the rest of your team if we couldn't have made it to you." And then he turned to Catrain. "Thank you for helping me there. Had I been hit, I likely would have been knocked out as well." With that, he thanked the team for doing well this day, and walked back to the camp.

"You're welcome." Catrain responded to Brooklyn. "Thank you, as well. I also would have been defeated if I hadn't teamed up with you." She smiled.

 

After the battle Alexander took a deep breath, and sheated his sword as he looked at the others, they had lost an unit in this match, which frustrated him, but he was genuinely glad to see that the tactician regreted it, even though it wasn't exactly his fault for her going down,

He turned to Alice, and nodded to her  with a smile "Thank you for healing me, I owe you one" he said as he began walking to camp as well, on his way he decided to walk over to Catrain after Brooklyn left and thanked the team, "You and your wyvern make quite the pair! nice work in the fight back there." he complimented her.

"Heh... thanks." Catrain spoke a bit nervously. Although Alexander seemed to be amazed by her performance, all she'd really done was miss an attack and back up Brooklyn for one small counter. She didn't really do much to help during the battle... "You did well, too!"

Catrain was a bit distracted by her thoughts regarding the battle, and forgot to follow the rest of the group. "Oh, yeah, I'm coming!" Catrain said hurriedly, and quickly followed after Alexander and the others. As she walked with the others, she heard Arcelia, Reiner, and Wolt discuss something about another group of soldiers. Is something going on somewhere else, too...?

"Well I attacked a Brigand and a mercenary, thats about it" he said chuckling and shrugging as he walked with her to the camp, he also heard the discussion between Arcelia and her brother, which intrigued him to an extent, he didn't think too much about it though, "Say Catrain, where are you from?" he asked curiously.

"I'm from the Principality of Rossane, same goes for Penna. I came for a small village on the border, though... I don't really have any ties with the nobility there." She explained. "It was a nice place to live, but a little too quiet. Where did you come from, Alexander?"

"Been to Rossane once on a job, really liked there." He gave his opinion on where Catrain came from, he frowned as she asked about where he came from, "Varius plains, lived with my mother in a small village near the desert, life was tough, village was poor, although things were stable enough, I became a mercenary to seek something better you could say." he gave her some of his backstory, although hiding that his mother died, as he didn't feel comfortable talking about it, maitaining a relaxed expression, he smirked as he looked at her, "How long do you and Penna know each other? if you don't mind me asking." he asked.

"Hm... so, you came from a small town, too... I can't imagine what it would be like living in the desert. That must have been tough for you. It's good to hear that you stayed strong, though." Catrain smiled, impressed by Alexander's story. "Penna and I met back when I was 13, so... it's been 11 years now." She grinned. "We've been close friends ever since we first met." She patted the head of her wyvern, which in turn make a sound comparable to purring.

He couldn't help but smile as he could hear the wyvern purring as he listened to Catrain's story about them, "I see, you two clearly bonded" he said chuckling, "11 years, no wonder you two work great together" he said with a smile before extending his hand, hesistantly towards Penna, stopping mid-way as he looked at Catrain, "May I? never seen a wyvern up close before" he asked for permission to pet the wyvern.

 

(Please don't bit his hand off )

"Go ahead!" Catrain told Alexander. "She won't bite unless she can tell that you're an enemy. She hasn't gotten nervous so far, so I'm sure you'll be fine." She spoke in a reassuring tone, in case her comrade was worried at all by what the wyvern would do.

"Alright then" He said with a more relaxed tone and with a small smile om his face, as he slowly extebded his hand to Penna, petting her on the head, with a smile on his face.

"What brought you to this gathering of mercenaries?, I get the feeling it wasn't for the rewards promised" he asked with a smile, as he stopped petting.

Penna seemed happy that Alexander was petting her. Catrain smiled, glad to see her friend getting along with new people. "Ever since Penna saved me, we've kind of had a habit of helping other people. We figured that we'd get the chance to do that by joining this group. Why did you join?"

Bonus: 30 Exp.

BONUS: The bonus is experiience given to all members in battle. Also, the bonus can be multiplied with a maximun of x5, that will make sure you all can earn experience and level up, and by default, don´t be left behind. Now the bonus results:

After the battle it is important to Ei that he kneels on the ground and pray for any victory he gets. He then stands up and turns to Yani, "Sorry for the late introduction but my name is Ei... Ei Ice." He states laughing and smiling kindly, "Whats your name?"

 

After the battle was over Yany transformed back into her normal form just in time to see Ei kneeling on the ground "Hm...interesting man-spawn indeed" thought Yany before he finished. After Ei introduced himself & then asked for her name Yany gave a slight frown "I already told you my name man-spawn, er I mean Ei" said Yany as she crossed her arms "My name is Yany & I would thank you not to go forgetting it again Ei" said Yany before she felt dizzy "I need to rest for a moment" said Yany shaking off the dizziness. Yany then looked at Ei with kind eyes "Lets head back to camp, As I said I'll gladly tell you more about the Taguels & maybe you could tell me about yourself also Ei?" said Yany.

The sound of galloping hooves eminates from far off until a man on horseback can be seen heading for the group. His blonde hair currently tied back and his blue coat fluttering from the air he currently rides through. His sword is sheethed at his side. As he nears close he stops and gets off his brown haired steed and quickly moves towards the princess. "I apologize for my absence and for not arriving with Kihone... There was some matter she had to attend to. She also would not tell me what the matter was." He immediatly says before he stretches out from his ride.

"A good goal, I can respect that" he said smilling, as his expression became normal as she asked him about why he joined this merry band of mercenaries, "I'l be honest, work, mostly, doing odd jobs here and there isn't exactly a surefire way to make a living, couldn't refuse this offer" he gave his honest opinion as to why he joined, "Most mercenaries would say they were here for glory, money and beer, least the ones I know of, so I guess im different, you could say" he said with a small laugh.
