so i was looking up info on axel and i found out that he was supposed to die in CoM but since he was a fan fiction caracter they brought him back i also found out that there is a differnce about axel's death when it comes to KHII and final mix. when axel is starting to explode in th origional english version there is no fire consuming him but if you look at the japenese or final mix version there is flames consuming him i tested this myself. then in the origional CoM axel say commit it to memory instead of got it memorized... ok im done fangirling

well got it memorized is so much catchier so ill just stick with that, i would have liked to see him burst into flames, but why is he the only nobody to get a personalized death i would have liked to see Larxene burst into lightning

I'm kind of glad they didn't make Axel burst into flames. I think that would of made his death more painful, at least for me.

The only reason Axel didn't die in flames in the American edition was because of censoring.

 

And I think she meant a "fan favorite" character. He was so popular to fans, they didn't want him to die.

Plus Axel was meant to die in KH2 in the final battle with Roxas not in CoM against Sora

Axel had to survive his fight with Sora to appear in Reverse/Rebirth, so they couldn't kill him.

 

And his death in FM was AWESOME! All solar flare-y...

I don't even understand why they had to go off and kill Axel in the first place. I mean, I <3 him, and if they were going to be evil enough to do it, he should've at least died cooler.

He's not a fanfiction character. The development team just liked him so much, they decided to change the plot so he wouldn't die.

See, here's the thing about fan translators and localizers. While they are perfectly capable of, well, translating and can use the literal translation, they often choose to reword the dialogue so that it can make more sense and just sound better in another language.

Japanese people get all the fun. I watched Axel's death scene in both the versions and the japanese one looked more cooler. But I agree with butterflylexi, I <3 Axel and they shouldn't of killed him. And, yes I also heard that he was suppose to die in CoM but because of his popularity he stayed and I thought that was good. We all got to see him in KH2!
