It just wouldn't be FFVII without those silly scenes that help balance out all the existential and a-meteor-is-about-to-wreck-our-shit-gaiz world crisis issues. It even shares the problems I have with Cloud's non-FFVII portrayals. All in all, probably the most valid argument I've seen for why Cloud needs to dress up pretty.

Also agree that Cloud's adventures in a dress are kind of important to the mood and character. It didn't used to always be about brooding and moping. It's right up there with Cid demanding we drink our kindly-worded tea. It's silly, and in a game full of existential crisis, that's kind of what we need.
