FFXV is definately getting a Worldwide release

Posted

Final Fantasy XV was a hot topic during Gamescom last week, when director Hajime Tabata revealed a handful of new details, including the news that the game is on track to be released before 2017, implying that it will be released sometime in 2016.

When asked about the amount of work that's been accomplished over the last year--when it was first revealed that Tabata was taking over the project that was originally helmed by Kingdom Hearts III director, Tetsuya Nomura--Tabata revealed that Final Fantasy XV will be the first main Final Fantasy game to be released simultaneously across all regions.

"This may be something that we are little bit embarrassed to talk about, but really, this is the first time that we've done a packaged, standalone Final Fantasy game with a simultaneous global launch, so we didn't have the setup to deal with that, really. The first thing we had to do was rearrange our internal structure to create something that could do that. That was the first important work on the project."

The last "main" Final Fantasy game, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, was released in Japan on Nov. 21, 2013. It took three more months for the game to reach other regions, in February 2014.

A full transcription of our interview with Tabata will be live later this week, with more new info on the upcoming RPG that was announced over nine years ago, at E3 2006.

I think the last main Final Fantasy game was Final Fantasy Type-0 which NA actually got first only by a day or two so I think that Final Fantasy XV will get a release similar to that so there is nothing to worry about

Yes!!! I was so worried that FF XV would release like 5 months early in Japan and we'd have to wait till the end of the year avoiding spoilers. I'm so glad they did this so that everyone could experience this game at the same time across the world and not have to avoid spoilers! :D

I think this means that KH3 will be getting a worldwide release too. It'd be stupid if it didn't.

Peace!

This is great news. Everyone will get to enjoy the next great FF game without having to wait for localization time. Now lets just hear a release date at PAX so we can know when to Pre-Order

It's a good idea it's gets a Worldwide Release.

Anyway the game since when it was announced? Like 9 years ago? The world has been waiting for the game for years!

Could have told you that years ago. Lightning Returns is unfair to compare because it was stuck in the time when the new consoles came out and they had even more dialogue to record. Its fairer to compare to XIII-2 which only took a month and I doubt they wanted to release it at New Years. Haha.

Damn, just think about how much this game will sell when it comes out!  Given the fact that it'll release worldwide at the same time, there's no doubt that the game will fly off of store shelves in no time flat!  Oh ho, FFXV has been a long awaited game, and now, in just less than a year, we'll finally get to see it! :3

This seems fairly obvious. The fact that FFXV and KHIII have both had English voice work done on them shows that there is a tighter effort between the development teams of Square Enix around the world. We are starting to enter the era where AAA titles will start launching WW.
