Who actually is Aqua's ' encounter'

Posted

I've been reading over a few of the recent interviews and I have been continually pondering over who this encounter actually is? I have a small list of potential candidates for this role. ( I decided to leave the ' unknown memories out of this as I have no clue where to even start there).

1) Ansem the Wise- this does seem likely due to the fact that Aqua does talk to him during Blank Points, so we know contact has been made between the two, however if it is Ansem, then why the secrecy as it's common knowledge they meet? Which makes me kind of eliminate him

2) Mickey- the fact that Mickey has secrets to confess practically confirms Mickey knows at least a fraction what happened to Aqua in the Realm of Darkness, also time wise, we know he was seeking the Kingdom Key D in the Realm of Darkness. So this actually makes sense, and could be used as a device to expand both Aqua's tragedy/role and Mickey's own character development

3) someone from the original keyblade war- be it Ephemera, the foretellers, the Master of Masters etc, this could work in the capacity of a foreshadowing to the destruction of the Keyblade war/ another character also wishing to escape the Realm of Darkness. I do fear this would be more for linking Chi/Backstory to the series though more than being realistic

This is where I have a few I admit far fetched ideas, starting with:

Heartless attack- This would be a slight anti-climax, but perhaps the ' encounter' would be another final battle kind of thing, though personally I would find this lucklustre.

2) Mysterious Figure???- similar to other games. A random figure either finds her or vice versa, with either the person being revealed or the identity being left to KH3, I wouldn't mind this so much as it would be another interesting aspect making us want to play KH3. just to add spice to this, perhaps have the figure fade away with a cryptic message about Terra and Ventus, forcing Aqua to stay in the RoD to try and find him again rather than escape with Mickey out of fear etc

There's always this:

Will Aqua be the main character in the realm of darkness for [KH0.2BbS]? Also, will the story be about what's happened in the ten years that have passed? (As in, the period of time before the BbS secret episode, where she met Ansem the Wise?)

Nomura: Actually, we prefaced to it in the secret episode, but in the opening, just before the new journey in [KHIII], we'll tell you about King Mickey meeting Aqua again, who has been hidden away all this time...it will be that kind of introduction.

There's always this:

Ah cool, so it's just Mickey alone?

I knew it was Mickey!  The question know is, when did they meet.  I think it's safe to say it was sometime between when Mickey left Disney Castle and when he joined Riku in Castle Oblivion.  I mean, think about it.  KH is a game featuring Disney characters and Mickey Mouse get a full 60 seconds of screen time.  He had to be doing something epic in that time.

Well, we all know that Mickey is going to end up meeting Aqua, and we all know that at the end of A Fragmentary Passage, Aqua will end up talking with Ansem The Wise, so for all we know, this "encounter" that is being alluded to could be a new character that we meet altogether!  Anything is possible!  This could also possibly tie in with the "unknown memories" that we've heard of as well! :D

Nope, that'd be too obvious. Mickey wouldn't just see Aqua in the Realm of Darkness only to leave her.

My guess is that it is Ephemera. I believe that in Kingdom Hearts X Back Cover, Anguis banished Ephemera into the Realm of Darkness through her book of prophecies as she realised he had powers over the darkness and assumed that he was the cause of the Heartless and "the potential traitor".

So, in the Realm of Darkness, Aqua finds Ephemera. From Ephemera's perspective, He assumes that it is Anguis. Blinded by rage, Ephemera commences battle with Aqua and Aqua has no choice but to fight him. After the battle is over, Ephemera apologies for his action. Aqua tells Ephemera the consequences of darkness whilst Ephemera elaborate to Aqua the predicaments of thinking that light needs to be absolute. They both silently wander in the Realm of Darkness.

Exactly.  There must be something we don't know that's keeping Aqua in the RoD.  Either that or Mickey meet up with her after they closed the Door to Darkness or they split and there was no time to get her because they had to close the door.

I'm betting on Mickey, he sounds like the more promising possibility. Also, there's always the chance that if it's one of the more longer kind of length of a world, like say The World That Never Was length, then maybe the very end is a sort of Crisis Core-esque ending where you slowly but surely wander yourself into the place that you know the character is eventually destined to end up at, the Dark Margin. That would in a way make Ansem another encounter, but one we already foresaw. There's always the possibility however that the encounter is with somebody we never even thought of or knew about. And there was something about mysterious memories wasn't there? Hopefully this will feel like one of the longer world lengths, because this sounds like a lot of plot to fit into something as short as the Secret Episode.

I'm not doubting that Mickey will be in the Realm of Darkness. I just think that, when Nomura was talking about an "Encounter", he was talking about a being that ends up being a final boss battle.

You might be forgetting that Mickey was already in the RoD for all of KH and the better part of COM until he met up with Riku in Reverse/Rebirth. The RoD might have a slow time flow, but Mickey would have had to be doing something in there besides searching for a keyblade and trying to find a way to CO.

Why do I have a feeling it will be Kairi? Hmm.....

I know Mickey was in the realm of Darkness, and yes, Aqua will interact with Mickey, but who's to say that they are the only being aside Ansem and Mickey in the RoD?

Xigbar being interested in Zexion has probably got to do with The Book of Prophecies.

I wasn't even talking about the hook. I was talking about the encounter which was the subject in the first place.

I know, I was just theorising as to why Xigbar was interested in telling somebody like Zexion the secrets of Xemnas.

Why indeed. We never know why Xigbar does what he does, do we?

That's why I'm here to speculate. Chances are, Xigbar knows that Zexion has knowledge of The Book of Prophecies hence why he was sent to Castle Oblivion. He had too much oversight into Xemnas' true ambitions with the Organisation.

Why do I have a feeling it will be Kairi? Hmm.....

I agree. I think that Kairi has already been in the ROD and maybe Kairi herself is the "Key to return hearts" that can save the lost ones. I would like that because finally she would be more relevant :)

Maybe, it could be the traitorous Foreteller?
