Just few minutes ago, Bayonetta was confirmed to be the ballot winner. Not Sora, not King K rool, not Shante, but Bayonetta. And since many users on here wanted Sora, it was natural to post this.

So, what's your reaction that Sora wasn't the ballot winner and probably going to playable in Smash Bros 5? (Which is probably a decade later)

I would think Sora would have a higher chance of being in Dissidia. Now we wait for Kingdom Hearts 3

It's not the last Smash, but Sakurai said it might be the last one he'll work on. I wouldn't blame him for that decision, he gets far more complaints than he deserves to get. I don't know if another Smash could really be as good as the past four have been without Sakurai at the head of the project, though.

Damn. Well, I'm happy there's gonna be another Smash, and I hope Sakurai will still be the head of the project for the next one. Hopefully. I think Smash is a kind of game that could go on for a while.Hopefully in the next one they'll add the other characters that people want from the ballot, like Shovel Knight, Shante and my #1 choice of Sora. I'd like to see some more Sonic characters like Shadow but if not then oh well. I congratulate Bayonetta and I think she well deserves the victory in the Smash ballot even if the direct itself was disappointing. I just hope Nintendo releases like a list of the top ten votes from the ballot because I really want to see what characters made it into the top ten.

It's disappointing but not all that surprising that Sora didn't make it into SSB4.  I'm sort of wondering how much the ballot had to do with anything, though, and if Nintendo just chose a character that they thought would be a great fit beforehand.  I don't know; I often times wonder how much our opinions and votes really make a difference in some situations, but even still it's nice to see some new faces in Smash.

I'm not salty. I didn't expect Sora to be added so his lack of inclusion doesn't faze me. I know this is a Kingdom Hearts site, but the push for Sora was pretty stupid. The roster is full of great characters and there are so many more great characters that could be included over him.

 

I can't see him being included in future instalments either. No one expected Corrin, and Bayonetta was asked for by a lot of people. In many ways, I am glad that K. Rool, Shovel Knight and Wolf didn't get put in more than being salty over the lack of Sora.

Oh shut up you haters, Sora was never going to be in the game without Disney's permission, and Bayonetta was a shoe in when Smash Bros 3DS / Wii U first came out because there were a lot of fans that wanted her in the game. So it was always going to happen, there were more fans voting for her than there were Sora. But since Square wants to work with Nintendo again, Smash Bros 5 (or 6 if counting 3DS and Wii U as different number games) could be the prefect place for Sora to appear! So be happy with what we have, because I don't think Smash Bros as a series is completely over yet, I think it was just gotten to the good part!

Hmm... I guess it would be a salty yet sweet situation. Salty because we didn't get Sora for smash. Sweet because we still got Bayonetta. I mean, I can see why Nintendo would do this because 3 Square Enix characters is a bit much. Well I guess the closest we will ever get to Sora in smash is either the next Smash game or Project M. But man... a Sora amiibo... maybe a Kingdom Hearts stage... maybe even with some new music.... Guess we'll just have to wait.

Also even though I wasn't expecting Bayo she kinda meets my wanting characters from less represented franchises. Plus she's pretty cool. And Cloud and Corrin are cool too

Still, it won't be long until Smash NX is announced, as time flies fast, I mean just look at how a whole year has gone by already since Smash Wii U / 3DS were released. Time won't slow down, so soon we will have the next Smash Bros in our grasp. But to be honest, I am really happy with Smash Wii U! It's my favorite Smash Bros title yet, and it had almost everything I wanted in it and it is just what I could have always asked for! So even though characters like Sora aren't in it, I actually really like this game, and I am happy that I got to take part in the experience!

I believe I said this before, but I'm not surprised at all that Sora didn't make it in.  The moment they showed Cloud, I knew Sora wouldn't be in it because I don't think Smash would have two playable Square Enix characters.  And if they ever do, I think they'll pick Sephiroth or another Final Fantasy character over Sora.

All I did was hope, nothing more. I actually was not thinking about it at all. I was surprised to see Bayonetta be such a kick-butt character in Smash.

People are gonna freak out no matter what. What irks me is that some these characters feel shoehorned in. I have the feeling the ballot really didn't mean anything and they had Bayonetta planned awhile ago.

How do you know they're shoehorned when you never played the series in the first place or even cared about the games

 

Just because your favorite character didn't get in doesn't mean the ballot was a bogus and that the winner was chosen for a while
