Pete's a good guy?

Recently in the Gamescom BBS trailer, we saw that Pete was dressed in what appears to be a super hero outfit of some kind and he called himself "Justice Man" or something like that. Does this mean that Pete was once good and eventually became evil?

 

His good side was also hinted in KH2 at Timeless River. After Sora, Donald, and Goofy defeat Pete in a short boss battle, Pete claims to be good and that he is a friend of Mickey. Of course if you watched the original Steamboat Willie cartoon, (the cartoon Timeless River is based off of) you can see that Pete and Mickey were enemies (or at least disliked each other). So this either means Pete was lying just to get Sora to back off or Nomura wanted Pete to originally be good.

 

So what are your thoughts?

And I honestly think that Pete just follows whoever he thinks is stronger, or whoever has the upper hand. Umm...no. Pete wasn't a "good guy" in BBS.

In the game he calls himself "Captain Justice" so that he could try to win the contest. But, since Pete didn't "help people" he didn't win. Instead, Terra, Aqua, and Ven won the dream festival. The reason he got banished was because he let down the people that believed in him and was banished by queen minnie who banished Pete in a bizzare dimension. And the stuuf you are saying about timeless River is wrong. That all took place BEFORE the dream festival and before Mickey and Minnie became the rulers of Disney town/Disney Castle. And also while Sora and co. was trying to get back the cornerstone of light. So back then the Pete in Timeless River didn't know about the heartless and Maleficent. And of course Pete and Mickey were enemies. It's a cartoon just like all the other shows with mickey and Pete in it. That's kinda like a Tom and Jerry thing.

In a world in BBS, Pete dresses as Justice Man and Captain Evil, to get the better votes from the people of the world to win a contest. Captain Evil is for racings, as Captain Justice is for everything else. He is still pretty much evil, in a comedic way.

Captain Justice and Captain Dark are what you can call his two "alter egos," the former as the keeper of peace, a hero to everyone, and the latter as an evil villain acting from the shadows. They're really just for his own personal benefit, not for goodwill or anything one might consider related to "being a good guy."

No, he just was a liar and was a bad guy all along. He just dressed up as "Captian Justice" so that he could win more votes for the Dream Festival but he didn't win.

Terra Aqua and Ven won the conversation and Queen Minnie sent Pete into a alternate bizzare demension and then Maleficent helped Pete get out of the realm

well setting aside the fact of what i voted, for some time, pete must have been good, but in bbs he wasnt, it had something to do with

anyways, after loosing to terra aqua and ven he gets upset, does something (i don't know what) and because of that gets banished to another realm which malificent helps him escape from,

Yes, Pete was posing as his two alter egos, Captain Dark and Captain Justice, believing them to be fooling the townspeople, when they were in fact completely aware of what he was doing. This was all in an attempt to claim popularity votes for himself to win the Million Dream Award.

 

Although he lost to Terra, Aqua, and Ven, he still stalks up to the stage and demands to be given the prize, showing no regard for the rules. This was the last straw for Minnie. Pete had already made trouble many times in the past, but this time he did something far worse.

 

See, by being a sore loser and demanding the prize like he did, he showed he cared little for the hearts of others, the few people who really did vote for him, despite the heinous acts he committed. This led Minnie to, not banish, like KH2 said, but instead, send him off to another dimension to cool his head (basically a time out). He was only supposed to stay there for a short period of time, but then Maleficent helped him escape before Minnie let him back out.

 

...Bit of a random note: even though he's King Mickey, he seems to leave his kingdom to go off adventuring a lot, doesn't he?

I think he's just like Iago; he just plays both sides. I think he was dressed up like a hero because the hero side was winning. If you saw him at the end of KH2, he wanted to run away when all those heartless came out but Malificent(sp?) convinced him otherwise. In otherwards, if the good side is winning he'll pick that side but if it looks like the bad side is winning, he'll change his mind and go to the bad side. It's time that he makes up his mind.
