What makes Kingdom Heart's Story CONFUSING? (Kingdom Hearts Discussion)

Posted

I know a lot of people on this sight might not find the games to be that confusing, but for people that aren't as dedicated to the series, I made an overview for why the Kingdom Hearts series might have confused some of the more casual fans of the series. :)

I think part of it is that it isn't really explained all that well in the games themselves.  I do remember feeling confused while playing DDD, but when Flaming Lea explains it, it makes sense.

Kingdom Hearts is very confusing especially without some of the Nomura's interview and a lot of casual fans skip the handheld games making it even more confusing for them

Funny. I never found KH confusing. Guess I'm one of those types of guys.

Yea I know a few people like you lol. But a lot of people that play it casually really seem to understand it. The only part I need a refresher on sometimes is the time travel part of things.

Exactly! I one of those few Kingdom Hearts fans who play all the games and actually understand the storyline. But that time travel threw me off guard and I was confused as hell! Until Flaming Lea show me some of Nomura's interviews than I pretty understand it.

KH is weird because the concepts it has in the games make sense in your head but when you actually try to put them to words they sound insane.

like it totally makes sense why Roxas looks like Ven but when you actually try to explain it you sound crazy.

also Nomura writes things on the fly. that doesn't help matters much.

Yea he really helped a lot of people understand it, for all I know when doing research to really understand it, he was probably one of the people to help me.

Also a lot of things or certain topics are kind of explained in a vague sense, but yea any time someone asks me to explain the series I have a hard time explaining it because unless you have the mindset and have played most of the games it's hard to not sound insane xD

The simplest answer is "The game does not do a job in explaining things", it doesn´t help that some of the answers come from the Ultimania guidebooks or Nomura interviews.
