[SPOILERS] Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Posted

Has anyone watched Dawn of Justice?Personally, I believe it was an icredible film. The battle scenes were awesome, and the actors portrayed the characters perfectly. It didn't deserve all the hate it got.Still, there are some people who didn't like it.What is your opinion? In a scale from 1 to 10, how much would you give it?Me, 9!! ;)

Critics are such fools, and fans don't appreciate something different in their characters. I'd give it a 9,5 out of 10 just for killing off jimmy olsen so early and lois saving clark from batman just in time. Only complaints i have with the movie.

I think I will give it an 8.

The movie is alright, the visual effects are good, but the story was not the best for me.

It just kept going from one sub-plot to the next one.

Oh yeah,God forbid we have a differing opinion cuz all of us are just stupid haters who know nothing and we should nothing but praises for the movie

PEOPLE HAVE THE RIGHT TO DISLIKE SOMETHING THAT THEY FOUND NOT GOOD....IS THAT HARD TO COMPREHEND

Can we just put the fanboyism glasses aside on this site and critique something with a non-bias view for once?

7.5 in my book.

Batman has killed here and there before but it was always a last resort and he always has a refusal to kill and thats been a part of his character for a very long time, here they just took that away and he just brutally kills anyone who stands in his way... If thats the case why the hell is harley, joker, killer croc and the whole suicide squad cast still alive? IT MAKES NO SENSE.

They wasted the death of superman story, that's something that should have happened way down the line and now it's already been done and we know he's still alive. whats worse is Doomsday lasted half an hour.... Doomsday... one of the biggest DC villains... lived for half an hour...

The movie was edited weird and its very noticeable that its probably because they cut an hour and a half of it.

The movie had serious flaws but it was still good and worth watching for the setup of the DCEU, I'm only worried now since Snyder is directing both Justice league movies... the man may single-handedly ruin the DCEU.

I'd give it an 8.5. I loved the movie, but it just felt a little slow at first.

I was a bit scare when I heard the movie had mixed reviews, but I really liked it was a great movie,I really had fun watching it.I'd say the Dark Knight was better, but it was definitly better then Man of Steel

I went to see it again, and in my second view i see where many people are coming from. Still, just the theme of the movie "what would the world do if there was a superman?" made my ticket so worthful. I hadn't thought about it myself, and the movie adresses it perfectly. Cinematographywise it was outstanding. The only problem i see is the pacing, a bit slow, and there were 2/3 extra scenes that didn't need to be in the movie, and they could've added that deleted scene they just released on their youtube channel to make some more anticipation for the justice league movie, which by the way sets perfectly. People complain about it, but marvel does the same with their post credits, so i don't know why the hell they do. Actingwise I absolutely LOVE the actors. Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Gal Gadot, Jeremy Irons, and the best, of course Ben Affleck. I give it a lower score now, but overall, it's a movie by comicbook fans for comicbook fans, and that's what i love the most, so props to snyder (jj abrams dis the same with star wars and people loved it, but its the same situation; only thing is that star wars has more fans than anything in the world, so thats why it was so succesfull). 9/10

1- batman just kills 4 people in the whole movie (dream sequence doesn't count), and one of them was actually necessary to save martha. Out of the other 3, two were killed in an explosion (one was a car driver and the other was the guy killed with KGBeast. And it doesn't really matter, I mean come on, Captain america kills some people in Avengers 1 in the helicarrier, and no one complained. He's supossed to be the perfect superhero man. No one really cares about the death pf some thugs which are actually bad.2- Even in a movie about the death of superman you wouldn't hace seen doomsday much more. You need to introduce the character and make audience fear him, and the movie does it perfectly in that sense. I think it was a great way to show the death of superman storyline.3- I agree with you in this one. The editing wasn't really the best.

I'm surprised how much i like it.The way they present the others heroes was a little awkward but i guess it had to do with how quickly they want to development the universe. Also Ben is a really good Batman.

In the fight to save Martha he grabbed a guy and had him shoot a couple of thugs and by the end he set that one guy on fire, earlier he hooked a car with several thugs in it dragged it around and threw it at another car killing them all, then blew another car up when they drove into a gas tank, then later he took the batwing and shot down a few more thugs. Captain america has always killed, he was a soldier and has used guns before, in fact all of the avengers killed in the first movie when they fought t'chari.

all the ones you're saying are either not his fault or not confirmed deaths. There are only 4 deaths in the movie which he's actually responsible for. Watch the movie again (if you have to, wait till it releases on dvd or something)

Superman was an Idiot during his fight with Batman.  He could have easily won, but It's like he forgot what powers he had.

I just watched Batman V Superman yesterday and here are my thoughts on it:

PROS

The soundtrack by Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL is brilliant, especially Lex Luthors theme song

The opening credits

Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne

Jeremy Irons as Alfred

The cinematography.

CONS

Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor was icky

The Justice League setup was way too rushed.

Doomsday looks like Crazy Frog if he had way too many doses of steroid

It was WAY too grim for my personal taste, I know they're trying to emulate a Frank Miller Batman-esque tone but it's not for me.

Batman and Superman having only one fight scene, and it's just a few minutes in the third act.

The writing was not my favorite aspect, the structure was jumbled and I felt they could've added some scenes or deleted them here or there it would've been there.

OVERALL SCORE

I give it a score of "Meh", it wasn't good, wasn't bad. It had parts in it I enjoyed and others not so much. I'm just glad that i saw the movie at least once.

I agree with you, but the one thing I hated most was the fact that batman kills in this movie

Edited by supermegaroxas

I had read about how this movie was receiving so much bad reviews, and I was a bit worried, because I was like: "Wow, did this film flop that badly?"  But well, I went to see it last week, and honestly, I thought the film was amazing!  Well, granted, I'm not the biggest DC fan, but only because I don't have much knowledge of the characters, ya know?  I mean, I know the basics, but I'm not an expert in DC lore, ya know?  I do know more from Marvel, though!

But yeah, I do agree that the whole thing with Doomsday was quite rushed, for Death Of Superman could have been left for Man Of Steel 2, but hey, what's done is done, am I right?  I didn't like Doomsday's design in this movie all that much, but I do have to admit that when he grew out the spikes, he looked slightly more badass, ya know?  At that point, he at least looked a bit more like his comic book version.  But hey, in the end, adaptions are never meant to be faithful to the source material 100 percent, ya know?

The things I loved about this movie were Lex Luthor, because watching Jesse Eisenberg act all crazy made me smile! X3  I also loved all the little cameos from the other Justice League members, and I also loved the subtle hints to Batman's past, such as Jason Todd's armor! (That was his, right?  The one that has: "Hahaha, the joke's on you!" sentence?)  I also liked how they kept his origin story short and simple, cuz everybody at this day and age knows how Bruce became Batman, ya know?

Also, I just loved the battle between Batman and Superman!  Lmao, I was laughing the whole time, because Superman was totally pwning him, and he was holding back!  It's like he said, if he wanted to, Bats would have been dead already! I guess that's the only thing that really holds Superman back, ya know?  Because if he didn't have the moral fiber he has to not kill anyone, he could have just easily taken down Batman with his laser eyes, and boom!

But yeah, the movie was awesome!  I can't wait to see what the rest of the DCCU has in store! :D

A solid 2.8/3. If you aren't focusing much on the downsides, you'll enjoy this movie a lot more. I went in knowing the reviews (but not the spoilers), but I was pleasantly surprised at how good of a superhero movie it was. It just gets me even more hyped for Capt America: Civ War.

P.S. DId you get the 2.8 thing? No? I'll see myself out
