Hey there everyone, how's it going!?  So then, as you all know, it's been a good, long while, about 9 months, give or take, since we were bombarded with Kingdom Hearts III news at every turn!  And well, ever since then, things have been a little quiet, so I decided to bring up this topic from an interview with Nomura from last year!

 

So, last year, Nomura stated that he had already decided on a release date for Kingdom Hearts III, but that he couldn't announce it yet! And well, ever since then, I've been wondering about it, ya know?  I mean, he probably wouldn't have decided on a release date if the game was still way too far off for us!  So I'm just thinking that he's waiting for the right time to give us said release date, and I think it could be this year!  At the beginning of this year, Nomura mentioned that Kingdom Hearts III is in an important stage of development, and that could very well mean that a lot more is being done this year as we speak!  I think that perhaps this year we'll get the release date for the game, or at the very least, a release window!  E3 sounds like a reasonable place to make the announcement, but I could also see the release date being revealed at the Tokyo Game Show, or perhaps even Jump Festa, ya know?  But hey, this is all just speculation!

 

So what do you think?  Could we get a "Coming 2017" release window this year?  And if so, do you think it'll be at E3, the Tokyo Game Show, or Jump Festa?

Everyone working on FF15 was said too move too kh3. now that 15 is pretty much done kh3 is gonna get more staff helping on development. I am a firm believer that KHIII has been in development longer than Square leads us to believe.

 

I highly doubt Square Enix started development "earlier than we believe." Nomura himself said the game was announced too early since barely anything had been finished. And although FFXV is finished, not everyone has actually moved to development of KH3. Nomura stated it was 20% Tokyo Team, the team that worked on FFXV, so really only a fraction of the team moved to KH3.

Speculating on dates are always fun; however I don't see E3 revealing KH3's release date. It will be interesting to see when 2.8 gets revealed and also released. If 2.8 is say revealed for December 16; then it's more realistic for Jump Festa to provide a release year bracket. From a marketing perspective it would be brilliant; spend the year pushing 2.8 in terms of promo whilst keeping 3 news healthy and once that product is making money reveal 3's year bracket at the end of 2016. That way everyone goes into the new year on a hype and it also shows to other rival companies that Square are not holding back in terms of another huge release; therefore exciting fans; pleasing shareholders ( essential in business) and puttimg pressure on rivals.

Hmm, you all make some very valid points here!  Very interesting and valid points!  Well, I guess that all that's left for us is to keep on speculating and wondering until E3 comes around!  If the release year isn't revealed there, then it'll be revealed either at Tokyo Game Show or Jump Festa!

 

And I've also been reading lots of people's comments saying that since FFXV is about to wrap up production in terms of bug checking and whatnot, the KHIII staff that worked on XV will move to Kingdom Hearts III after XV releases!  If this is true, then that makes me a very happy guy!

 

I'd say that a late 2017 release wouldn't be too farfetched, ya know?  Like, November or December of 2017!

I'm more concerned about having an international release date. A Japan first release would damage the sales of the game so badly...

I hope he's not rushing it. Just make the game an international release date and I won't have no problems.

Well, considering how Kingdom Hearts III is the most anticipated game in the series, and has been for quite some years now, Nomura will want to capitalize on all this by having an international release for the game!  I would frickin die of happiness if the game came out the same day everywhere!

 

I hope he's not rushing it. Just make the game an international release date and I won't have no problems.
