How far will Radiant Garden be into restoration by the beginning of KHIII?

Posted

Just as the title says. How far do you guys think Radiant Garden will be into its restoration process by the start of KHIII? Do you think it will be partially repaired, fully repaired and like the Radiant Garden we see in KHBBS or do you think it'll still be like the Radiant Garden we see as Hollow Bastion in KHII? And if it does turn out to be like the Radiant Garden we see in BBS, do you think we'll still be able to explore the castle and outskirts of Radiant Garden like in KHII?

I personally think it'll be like BBS as Leon, Yuffie, Cid, Merlin, Aerith, Tifa and the Gullwings now have Even, Ienzo, Dilan, Aeleus and I guess Lea being on hand to help out with the restoration process, presumably.

I think it will be completely restored by KH3. They seemed to be just ain't done in KH2 and will be done by KH3.

Another added bonus question.

Do you think we will finally be able to explore the Chamber of Repose in KHIII, presumably to recover Aqua's armour and Rainfell?

Radiant Garden will be in advanced state of restoration if not completely restored unless something unknown happens (Lea said he had to dash back to Radiant Garden at the end of DDD), so you never know. One thing's for sure, the maps will be different since Nomura confirmed that he won't be recycling maps, all of them will be completely new (although it looks like Twilight Town's map shown in the trailers is identical xD)

I think they'll probably add more to Twilight Town though. I sorely hope we can actually break the wall and get back into the mansion.

I guess it depends on how much time passes between games. I don't think it will ever be exactly the same as it was in BBS, it probably will be better. I also don't think it will be completed by KH3, but you never know.

I'm hoping it'll either be near completion at the beginning of KH3 and be totally restored before the game's end or it'll be completely restored by the beginning of KH3. I mean, it probably won't look EXACTLY the same, what with still having limited schematics of the original town, new progress, and just the changes of the times and immediate needs (Radiant Garden didn't exactly have a Heartless infestation back in BBS, so they'll likely need more defensive installments to better protect the place in KH3). Not to mention the new engine essentially requiring to make a new map from scratch. It would be cool to start to see more water and plant life returning to the natural area, giving the canyons more life to them. And of course, I would love to explore the outskirts, badlands/wilderness, the Castle itself, and maybe even the actual Villain's Vale (along with an actual explanation of it's history, because there are still people who are confused between it and the original Hollow Bastion in KH1 and it's honestly never explained that well). Radiant Garden is a pretty significant world in the series, so I would expect it to have one of the largest overhauls and upgrades in terms of world set up in the entire game. And of course, Yoko Shimomura's music work should put all of her previous pieces for the world to shame, despite how incredible they all are already. <3

There was a year gap between the point where the Restoration Committee first arrived in "Hollow Bastion", started working to restore it, and then had to put up with the Heartless again and junk.

They didn't really make too much progress if you compare to how Radiant Garden looks in BBS to how it does in KH2. I mean, in BBS, it was all super clean and grandiose and, well, "radiant". I'm pretty sure it hasn't been a full year's time since then. Coded and DDD felt like they took place over the course of, I don't know, a week? xD

It will be fully repaired but it won't look like it did in bbs.

Very interesting question and whilst it's highly unlikely you pay attention to my posts on other threads; I've been wanting to see Radiant Garden in a trailer for ages. I'm hoping it's not quite complete as I did enjoy exploring the ruins in previous games. However I'd like a compromise; I'd like the world to be developed to an extent where glimpses of previous glory are noticable; however I'd keep some areas still being restored as a reminder of our previous battles in the series.

I think it'll be fully, if not almost fully restored come KH3. It's going to be pretty awesome exploring that world since the maps are double their original size. So much stuff we could explore... outskirts, the castle, the rest of the city we always see in the distance. All I know, is that it'll be awesome regardless!

Well, considering that Kingdom Hearts III will pick up right where Dream Drop Distance left off, and considering that there's no 1 year gap between Kingdom Hearts II and Kingdom Hearts III, I think that during the course of the game, Radiant Garden could be almost completely repaired!  Then again, if there's been an increase in the worker population in Radiant Garden, then I'm sure that work on reconstructing the city is going at a quicker pace!  We'll just have to wait and see for ourselves what shape Radiant Garden will be in by the time we have the game!  My guess is that near the end of the game, the city will be completely restored! :D
