Actually they never said it was only Zelda, they said it will be the only playable title which is still the case.

But at least we had game announcements, new trailers and other things to go with the games we already knew about. Here, it's just old games, and uninteresting ones at that. I question Nintendo's decision to not show the NX at E3 when Microsoft and Sony will most likely announce the newer versions of PS4 and the X-box One.

For what, two games? They don't have much to show right now and in my personal opinion, Zelda is all that matters out of those two. I'm getting Pokemon, but it's not gonna be as hype as Zelda for me.

Unless I missed something, there's nothing saying that these are the only games that will be shown. They could still announce some new games. Giving a new game some Treehouse spotlight would be a good way to show it off, in fact.

 

Also, your comment about the games being uninteresting is just your opinion. I'm excited for almost every game that's been announced to be a part of the event (Zelda, Pokemon S/M, Monster Hunter, and DQVII, to be specific), so I'm looking forward to seeing them in action.

 

Maybe the fact that new versions of PS4 and Xbox One are expected to be announced are the reason why Nintendo's saving the NX reveal for a later date? The general gaming public is likely going to be more focused on those than a new Nintendo system. They could just be waiting until the reveal talk has died down a bit so they can strike then.

Saving the NX for a separate special event is the likely thing they're doing. It's not a bad idea, not the first time a company has done this, but I guess Nintendo doing it is wrong of them.

If they are going to do that then that's fine I guess (even though it's not really their style), but there is no better time for gaming other than e3.

Not really. Nintendo's directs outside of E3 have been way better in recent years and Sony has its own gaming event that is ten times better than their E3 conference. It's called PlayStation Experience and it's an amazing event they've done two years in a row. People are dropping from E3 which combined between all of them, has barely been that exciting the past few years. E3 might grow smaller next year, and eventually die out at that.

Nintendo's Directs haven't be that good once Smash was done imo. Plus, the only thing that was really good about the PlayStation Experience was FF7 gameplay to me, but I still feel, and most people will probably agree, that Sony's E3 conference is better if FF7's announcement proved anything. Also, last year's E3 was amazing and E3 is part of gaming history, Sony could have easily put FF7's announcement at their PSE event, but they knew that more eyes would be on E3 than their own event because that where gaming is celebrated. So E3 isn't going anywhere anytime soon, I'll believe it once Sony and Microsoft decide to not do a conference.
