Recently with the release of BBS a lot of people will be getting a brand new PSP for the very first time. I'm sure that these forums will be flooded with questions about things that are actually very simple so here is a short FAQ.

What's the difference between sleep mode and off?

To turn off your device completely simply hold the power button up until the device turns off. To put it in sleep, push the power button up once.

What is the reccomended memory card size?

You should try to get at least 1 gigabyte. This will be more than enough for your game saves and whatever you decide to put onto your PSP.

How do I add music, video, and pictures?

There are many ways to do this. Most of the time people will try to make you think you need some stupid program to do it. However all you need to do is a little copy and pasting.

First connect the USB to your computer and your PSP. If you do not have the right USB your local electronics store may have something. After every thing is plugged in, go into USB mode and wait for the device to connect. After its done go to computer and open up the folder that relates to the PSP. You should see a neatly organized stack of folders. Simply copy and paste videos from your computer into the video folder, music into the music folder and of course, pictures into the picture folder.

How can I download music and video?

I hope you realized this but Itunes doesn't work with the PSP. In order to get content you will have to download it. Google Video allows you to save videos into a PSP format. Or you could simply convert Itunes files int .wav files on Itunes. I don't know if .wav files work on the PSP but it's worth a shot.

Why is the web browser so slow?

The PSP never had the best internet browser. Speeds will vary based on where you are getting your WiFi but it's slower than most devices out there today. You can't watch youtube or play games on the Web browser right now.

That's about it, I'll add more things in the future, any other questions you have should easily be answered by the manual.

You should probably mention something about Data Install and System Updates...

Alright, I'll update the first post in a few minutes.

I just got mine, and couldn't even find the 'enter' button thing xD I just did the initial programming and shut it off immediately xD Thanks for this

Oh, I have just read this all of the infomration and I just want to say that its really that much fantastic news for me. I truly saying that I have heard about some of them and for the rest of the information I was totally unknown.

*Raises hand*

Question:

I tried getting the Internet settings to work, but even though I'm two inches from my dad's thing in the basement where he says the connection comes from, our network isn't on the list of ones to choose from :(

PSP's WiFi is not the best it could be cause your WiFi is not strong enough.

Make sure the switch on the left hand side of the PSP (with the screen facing towards you) is flipped up. If you did that already then it's either the wireless hotspot or the device it self.

Okay, thanks y'all x3

The switch is flipped up, but I guess it's my wifi =/ It pulled up the network two streets away but not mine xD lol

...

you have no frickin' idea how thankful i am for this.

i love you.

Heh, emulating a 3D game with graphics less than a decade old.

You amuse me :D

PS if you emulate BBS, please buy a redundant (Physical) copy, that makes it legal, and means Squre Enix still knows you care.

What's so funny? I just want to emulate it since I don't have a PSP.

It's just incredibly unlikely you'll be able to get it to work, and it f it does, it'll almost definitely have massive framerate and graphical issues.

By the way, 'Not having a PSP' isn't a very good excuse to emulate.

I would gladly pay $130 for a PSP, but my parents won't let me. And my friend won't let me borrow hers, plus I think she sold BBS.

A hundred and thirty? Where do you live, Australia?

Anyways, solution: Buy BBS now, wait three years, and buy it when you're all grown up (Like me!)

Unless Australians do it differently or something.

Like kangaroo hunting, or something.

PS I know you're Canadian

Holy shit now I know what it's like to have my own thread necroposted.

I was wondering,am I the only one who never turn off his PSP?When I'm done playing I only put it to sleep mode and its been 2 years now,is it a bad think to never turn it of or it doesn't change anything like to hole batterie's life or whatever.

I rarely turned mine off. When I was done, I'd just put it in sleep mode and I never had battery problems.
