The Ultimate Cartoon Network Rant

Posted

Recently, I've been thinking about how Cartoon Network literally has taken my childhood away. Just thinking back when all of the good cartoons used to come on gives me an extreme case of nostalgia. Some of you older guys must remember.

Courage, Ed Edd n Eddy, Fosters Home, Johnny Bravo, Dexters Lab, Samurai Jack, Billy and Mandy, Mike, Lu, and Og, Class of 3000, Sheep in the Big City, Kids Next Door, What Ever Happened to Robot Jones, Time Squad, PowerPuff Girls, Camp Lazlo..

These are just a FEW of the cartoons CN had decided to chop. Back in the early 2000's, CN used to DOMINATE. I mean DOMINATE. Remember Cartoon Cartoon Fridays? Oh man. Friday nights used to be the best for me. What do we have now? Freakin Ben 10, Star Wars, and all of that crap.

Remember how Cartoon Network used to look? The best man. Especially the CN City, the best look Cartoon Network ever had.

Just a few flashbacks of the most epic look ever.

Now, lets talk about how Cartoon Network ended its epic reign.

It started with them removing all of the Cartoon Cartoon shows...and then..they did this..

This was one of the most awesome ideas I've ever seen CN make. I wonder what dumb ass decided to end Toonami. This is what made me angry, and many long time CN fans angry.

And then...instead of fixing the problem..what do they do? Add CN Real. I swear I want to dropkick the person who thought of this idea.

Dude What Would Happen? What kind of show is this. Live action does not fit with Cartoon Network. They even thought of removing the "Cartoon" from their name, to make the network look more mature. This..is bull. BULL.

To end this rant..I just want to say. Cartoon Network. You have disappointed me, and you have taken away the childhood I remembered and cherished. So all I can say is... f*** you Cartoon Network. F*** you.

the same goes for me even if i loved anime more as a child the cn i loved lookign at some ofthe hold show's on there tom and jerry the most but they took away teh good one's and replaced the mwith bullcrap that none of us will like watching i miss megas, taj, zachbell, and many other's

SK3 I know how you feel when I found out they were ending Toonami I was pissed. I didn't and I still don't like all the changes they did with CN. I liked how it was before all the changes. I miss all the old shows like Courage, Ed Edd n Eddy, Fosters Home, Johnny Bravo, Dexters Lab, Samurai Jack, Billy and Mandy, etc.

I can tell you guys honestly, I literally cried when I saw that Toonami final broadcast back in 2008.

CN has been ruined, and its just too disappointing. The worse thing about this situation is...Disney and Nickelodeon are falling too. It's just horrible.

Ah, I remember those days. My best friend Bailey and I saw the Powerpuff Girls movie in theaters, and did our little theme song dance we'd made up in front of the whole theater xD I can't believe they cut all of that. I know currently the Powerpuff Girls are still on, though xD Yes, that was my favorite. I loved those Cartoon Cartoon Fridays. The twins were super little, like, just born, so I would sit on the sofa watching the cartoons while my mom took care of them. It was the happiest part of my day. How could they take all that away? I mean, why not let other little kids have that?

I miss all those shows :( I can still watch a few on boomerang every now and then, but I really miss the anime shows like dragon ball, dragon ball z, sailor moon, hamtaro, and all those other toonami shows.

  • Author

I don't see why they removed the shows. The newer generation never got a chance to watch them, which sucks.

Boomerang does air some shows, but not too many good ones. They put too many re-runs imo.

All of the anime shows...I am disappointed in CN for removing them, and I am especially upset with Adult Swim. They don't play any of the good animes they used to except Cowboy Bebop, which I can tell by your avatar you like.

I miss Toonami too!!!! It was the only place i could find Yu Yu Hakusho =( can't find it anywhere anymore! And Ben 10 isn't that bad. Although the new series is kind of a cash cow. And they completely forgot about the original series when they wrote the story for the new one too. Way too many plot holes for me. I do miss Billy and Mandy, probably my favorite out of all. I also miss Fosters Home. Cam Lazlo was okay for me. Courage was my second favorite. They made an MMO of all the classic cartoons as helpers, they would follow you around and give you stat boosts. The beta was fun but when the full game came out it wasn't worth the money so i dropped it. They still show Courage and KND from time to time. When all these shows got cut, it reminded me of when Invader Zim got canceled because Nickelodean sucks too. And Ed Edd and Eddy was my third, and Johnny Bravo shall forever hold a special place in my heart. Also, Samurai Jack was a work of genius. Great artwork and amazing actions scenes. I've been hearing rumors of a movie, I'll keep my fingers crossed. And Teen Titans was probably tied with Billy and Mandy of my favorite show of all time.

I've heard rumors about it too, I'm waiting for a trailer of some sort. A Samurai Jack movie would be pwnage.

Well guys, here's another memory trip for us all.

These memories are getting to me.

All of the anime shows...I am disappointed in CN for removing them, and I am especially upset with Adult Swim. They don't play any of the good animes they used to except Cowboy Bebop, which I can tell by your avatar you like.

Oh, don't even get me started on Adult Swim! They have just totally ditched the genre that made them relevant in the first place. All that's left of the old Adult Swim is a few hours of anime on Saturday nights.

And yes, I do love Cowboy Bebop, it's my absolute favorite show of all time!:D

  • Author

The only decent animes Adult Swim shows on Saturdays now is Cowboy Bebop and Bleach. Actually, I think they're starting to re-air Inyuasha as well.

And the ending of Toonami made me especially sad when Tom used that Cowboy Bebop line as his last words.

"Bang."

God, I remember all of those shows...They were the best. I hate Cartoon Network for getting rid of all of those classics. I was a huge fan of Tom and Jerry. Watched every episode with my dad all the time when I was little. Such great memories...than they make that new one when Tom and Jerry talk....TALK! Are they freakin' kidding me? I absolutely loved the Powerpuff girls! Oh and can't forget Johnny Bravo..Epic. Ben 10, And that adventure time whatever that piece of crap is called, are the stupidest things I've ever seen...next to JONAS LA on Disney Channel.

...I'm now sad and depressed. Curse you Cartoon Network...Curse you. ._.

My time line with CN. (Note, I will not include Tom and Jerry, Yogi Bear, the Jetsons, and the Flintstones in this as those got canceled a long time ago and are just re-runs that CN showed. They were made long before CN even existed)

Discovering CN- HOLY SHIT THIS IS THE BEST CHANNEL IN THE WORLD! I HOPE IT NEVER CHANGES!

Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo and Dexters Lab get canceled- Awe man that was pretty good. Oh well they still have some good stuff.

Duck Dodgers gets canceled- REALLY? Now I will never know if Daffy ever defeats Marvin the Martian. This really bites.

Codename: Kids Next Door Gets Canceled- I'm sure CN is just cutting cost, hopefully things will get better. Besides that show was going down hill anyway! Actually, no it was just getting awesome, what the hell is wrong with you CN?

Teen Titans and The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends get canceled- AWE THIS IS firetruckING BULLSHIT! WHOEVER IS IN CHARGE OF CN IS HIGH ON SOMETHING!

Toonami gets canceled- GO BURN IN HELL CN! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH

Courage the Cowardly Dog and Ed Edd and Eddy get cancelled- *rage quit*

I think I missed the animaniacs but I'm not really sure if that was on cartoon network. I'm also pretty sure I forgot a few mentionable titles. I also miss the classic cartoons that they showed later around 9:00 PM. Like the Warner Brothers cartoon's and even some Popeye episodes.

I officially love you.

That channel was, like, all I watched when I was little. Ed, Edd, and Eddy; The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy; Samurai Jack; Powerpuff Girls; Courage; etc. etc. etc. were the best. T_T

Unfortunately, I wasn't really able to get into Toonami before it was canceled. ;_;

That was the best toonami i miss it soo

ikr? I <333d Toonami, though. Then they took it away from us : Now little kids have to suffer through the worst cartoons EVER. What happened to the classics? They were amazing <3

The funny thing is that one day they will be whining about how those shows were canceled.

I'm used to these threads. The Flood (Bungie.net's off topic forum) has a new thread about this almost every day.

i remember the first time i watched Toonami. when i first watched it, it was when that robot guy looked like he was from halo (well it did when i was little) and if it weren't for that show i would never be into anime.

so CN ppl......GO TO HELL!!!!!! PEOPLE OF OUR GENERATION DONT LIKE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How can you still watch it? It's cancelled xD shoot, I broke the whole no words thing xD

The only time I'll watch Adult Swim is on the week days and thats for Family Guy and sometimes Robot Chicken.

I find the shows that took the place of all those classics annoying. They're stupid, insulting, and absolutely pointless. Of course, so were all of the ones and Toonami and stuff, but, still, they were TASTEFULLY stupid, insulting, and absolutely pointless.

Okay guys, me and Zero are doing a little cartoon archiving. We are going to search for some old CN shows, and watch them. If they have downloads, I will download these shows and put them on YouTube. Gotta keep the memories.

It still airs weekdays at 2:30PM and Wednesdays at 9:30PM.

CN is improving somewhat. They're slowly realizing their live-action crap is failing, and they're getting great new shows like MAD, Adventure Time, and Regular Show, plus Sym-Bionic Titan and a new Looney Tunes series which will be good.
