Greetings fellow Masters!

 

I finally got around to reading the recent Nomura/Famitsu interview when something stuck out and seemed like a great talking point.  Here's the question and response I am talking about:

 

—Hm? So if you think we will have questions about where Sora is in KH3, does Sora appear in the story directly before it, KH0.2…?

 

Nomura: Yeah (laughs). By the way, KH3's intro is short, and it begins straight away, but I am thinking very precisely about how to make sure both those who have been with the series for a long time and those for whom this will be the first KH title will be able to follow along. However, the details and particulars will be told in KH3D and KH0.2, so please play KH2.8 while you are waiting for KH3, it will make the flow of the story easy to grasp. For those who want to know everything in detail as they have up until now before the journey begins, I think it is best to play KH2.8 in preparation.

 

Sounds to me like he's saying Sora is going to be in 0.2, which I think is pretty exciting!

 

So my question is, if Sora is indeed in 0.2, in what capacity do you think he's going to appear?  A Cutscene? Secret ending? Possible small playable fashion? Could Aqua be saved at the end of 0.2 and the 2 of them meet again?

 

I have no idea how to even speculate.  What do you guys think?

If he does, I think Sora is gonna appear at the very end. Maybe they'll show the scene of him taking the Master Keeper on Destiny Islands and set off to Yen Sid's tower and have 0.2 end right when KH3 begins.

I don't know why people keep thinking this is news. We reported it awhile ago that this was confirmed the day 2.8 was announced. Sorry to sound rude but it ticks me off a little.

I don't know why people keep thinking this is news. We reported it awhile ago that this was confirmed the day 2.8 was announced. Sorry to sound rude but it ticks me off a little.

The problem with that, at least in my experience, is that I remember seeing that but I never saw that as a confirmation that Sora is going to be in 0.2.  It seems more to me instead that this quote is setting the scene.  Sora could very well just be off training and we dont see him until the start of KH3, but these events are happening in his absence.  Not only that, but the way the question was posed in the interview makes it seem like this isn't as common of knowledge as you may think.  Thats the way I understood it at least

Im happy to agree to disagree, that doesn't strike me as very direct but that's just my reaction to it, and may explain why some, such as myself, saw this quote in the Famitsu interview and thought "Wow.  Awesome!"

 

But even if it isn't exactly breaking news, it's still something interesting to talk about

This indeed is a very interesting topic to talk about!  But with Sora being in 0.2, he'll just probably be listening to Miceky's retelling of the events that happened down in the Realm Of Darkness, ya know?  It could be that at the very end of 0.2, we get a cruel tease scene of Sora doing something or saying something, or just doing anything that gets us all hyped up, and then...

His appearance will be like Luke Skywalker's in The Force Awakens.  He'll be at the end doing something for a few seconds, and then, the credits roll!

It seems odd that they say it as if Mickey's telling the story to Sora even though he's telling it to Riku and Kairi instead. Or maybe I'm misinterpreting it.

Well if Sora appears at the end he should be with the conversation of Yen Sid.

I only think he will appear at the end or in a secret ending where Sora and Riku leaves at KH2.

As much as I'd like to see that, that cutscene isn't canon, it's not a part of KHIII, that whole trailer is just one pre-rendered video to show off KHIII's initial Luminous Engine, so it's not actually part of the game or story.

I think Sora will comeback from his test, Yin sid will name him master, and he will get issued out a mission but we won't find out what it is until KH3.
